You do not need a powered usb hub. My warthog shares a normal hub along with CH pedals and Fanatec clubsport V3 pedal set
There is no firmware for the Warthog...... It is plug and play ! I think you are over complicating your problem.... Plug Warthog into a usb's and then configure it within DCS controls menu for the specific aircraft you wish to fly.......... Don't use the Target software
Plug in your Throttle and Stick, configure all you need in DCS.
Dude, I bought my USB hub cheap off of Amazon ! You are just over thinking the problem! Occam's Razor! Forget Target and just configure the hotas in whichever game/sim OP wishes to play......... That is what plug and play means!
Can't remember if it was this forum or IL2's but someone was having trouble setting the toebrakes with CH pedals and chuckled to myself 'Bet their using the the CH manager software' . Checked back a day or so later and OP confirmed he'd been using said software.
Also; Target, unless you need some specific features is not required either. However, I always use it, but that's because I have a script that makes each and every switch on the throttle give a button impulse for each position it is in. This makes it so much easier to program. I can have a switch in up position bind to "gear up" and that switch in down position bind to "gear down" for example. If you don't use any such features, then ditch Target.
If you are having problems no matter how you plug your device in then you may have a hardware problem. The cable that runs through the gimbal is prone to problems on the hog.
Bottom line, is do games see it and can you use it in games / sims? If so, how often is it failing and is there a pattern?
If it is only failing after using Target, then it is probably just getting bound to a different device ID but still works, it's just called something else.
For example I use target to bind my stick and throttle as one device and it is called "hog throttle combo" after I run my target script and the original devices vanish. (I don't actually use the hog base any more, but I do use target still and the hog throttle - target just thinks my Virpil base is a hog stick due to USB ID trickery). - is this what is happening? Stop using Target and if it doesn't happen again then this is all it is. It is a "feature" of Target.
Perhaps if you took the time to read other posts and what I said....... That link is for the T.A.R.G.E.T. Software which I have already stated not to use DOH! Do you own a Warthog Norris?
And this is why I don't come on and help more on the Steam forums...... It's toxic and full of kids that think they know everything. Well Norris my lil friend, I've been sorting problems with PC and peripherals since the early 90's when I was being told by support staff that my 386 wouldn't run that particular sim so I would rewrite the config sys and autoexec batch files and it may of taken me days and sometimes maybe weeks but by god I would get the SOB to run!
I used TMHW for 6 years. Now I have Virpil.
I really don't give a toss what you think or say kid. I have wasted enough of my time on you fools!
