DCS: world is the most realistic combat flight simulator in market.
Both are different genres.
Yes, atleast DCS supports Hotas X. I had that joystick at first.
Not 100% sure but even AC7 should support it.

DCS World is a different beast entirely. It is not story driven (at least not in the way that Ace Combat is). The primary focus of DCS is accurately replicating the systems, weapons, sensors, and flight characteristics of various aircraft and that can include quite a lot of learning on the part of the player. You cannot just jump into DCS and expect conventional, common gaming skills to carry over. It requires that you develop a whole different set of skills and some amount of knowledge about how the various weapons, navigation systems, sensors, fuel, hydraulic, and electrical systems work for the various planes.
I cannot overstate just how different DCS and Ace Combat are from one another. The only thing they really have in common is that they are both about aircraft. Everything beyond that is extremely different.
I also play DCS but it's entirely different. DCS is more about simulating flying a fighter jet. No story with cutscenes etc.
Yes. There are modules for both the F/A-18C Hornet and the Nimitz class supercarrier. You can do far, far more realistic carrier take-offs and landings than the game shown in your video.
threads almost a year old... but
basically any is gonna be better than that that's Battlefield 3. and you don't even fly the plane..
Well, as you can see when you look at DCS's screenshots, it isn't going for the heavily stylized, cinematic visual style that BF3 did. It will technically look better in the sense that the textures, level of detail, and model quality will be much higher quality but it won't look as stylized.
The effects and general visual style of BF4 is generally less realistic in the strictest sense. It is very heavily stylized and meant to be more cinematic rather than realistic.
