Su 27/ Mig 29 BVR tactics

Hey, im new to dcs, like easly take off, navigate, splasing AI new, and i have hella problem with SU 27/MIG 29 BVR. Su 27 cuz of lack of FOX 3, and mix 29 beacouse of lack of Datalink. Can anybody give some protips, or hit me up adn talk it out on discord?

On the level of electronics all radars work the same way. If you understand how the radar work, you will be able to use it properly more or less in any aircraft.

In short no matter which aircraft you use, you have to know mainly difference between high or low pulse repetition frequency.

Well on mig 29 i dont have that problem, for example today i was fighting pair of falcons, my radar was directly on them, pu ton HOT mode, didnt catch em till 60 km, after some defense i visually saw them at like 25-15 km away, again i put my radar on COLD , point directly at them, didnt cath a thing beside AMRAAM

Mig-29 has relatively short range radar. But generally. If the opponent's aircraft is 90° to your direction, you will not see any target. Specially against the ground. You have to know how the doppler filter works. It sees only things that are flying hot or colt. Not the flanking ones.

not going to go into it but alot of the time i fly the SU-27 i override the launch so i can send it off the rack around the same other planes can do it
