Custom skin?
Hi, I'm new to DCS. I mainly started playing because a friend forced me to at gunpoint convinced me to, and we've been having fun so far. We also noticed that there's custom made skins we can download from various sites.

Issue is, in customisation I don't really like downloading what someone else made, so I was wondering how I would go about making my own DCS skin? What software should I use, how do I import it into the game, etc. Thanks in advance!

I usually find YouTube tutorials to be long, tedious and unhelpful, hence why I asked here first, but thanks anyway.

Thing is - there is no short answer.

Ironically, by looking into other peoples work is one of the best way to learn a job. and those will also tell you how to install/import skins, and what file structure looks like, and what manifest/meta file you need create to able to be recognised by game.

I started to write full procedure "how to". And in the quarter of text I gave up and used google to find some links. Because it took me over 15 minutes to write just that.

I have no problem with a long answer, I was just saying, YouTube tutorials are generally unhelpful in my experience. And there's no point in watching a tutorial if it doesn't teach you how.

Yes, that's how I learned to make skins for my planes in War Thunder as well, but I still needed a friend to explain to me what software I would need to actually make the skins, as well as how to get access to the necessary files to make it easier, etc.

I have problem to write long answer. It takes too much time to write something which already exists.
