P-51D : High altitude flying.
Looking for some help & or advise. When I try to fly to the 20,000 altitude I cant get there. Even though I am maxed out with throttle and RPM. At about 10/12,000ft, serverql of the engine gauges go to into the red and I loose airspeed, down to stall speed. On one attempt to reach the 20,00ft alt., I made it high enough for the supercharger to kick in but I still didn't have enough power to climb. Please, can someone help me. I know it's bound to be something that I am doing or not doing that is causing this loss of power at higher altitude.

Try keeping ~2700rpm, and maintaining 46 MP (manifold pressure) at most. At some point your supercharger will kick in. With bombs and/or rockets this might be a tough goal to achieve. (I'm still learning how to fly this thing without blowing my engine, but I've had luck this way)

Just hold the power setting that Xoho wrote and keep airspeed around 150mph when climbing.
