DCS World Steam Edition

DCS A10 v Falcon 4 BMS
I havent played any jet flight sims for a long time. The only sims I've played recently are IL2 Sturmovic (I then bought Cliffs Of Dover but after being very disappointed with it, I installed the Team Fusion Mod and now love it!) and Rise Of Flight which I didn't like because after I bought it, I then found out I had to fork out more money everytime I wanted to use extra planes! I also didn't like not havind a full screen view with just the most important instruments at the bottom of the screen because I found the wings kept obscuring my view of enemy planes in dogfight. Anyway I digress. Regarding the jet sims, I got bored with them because I found there was no progression in the genre. I bought Falcon 4 when it 1st came out because of the dynamic campaign which really appealled to me becuase finally, here was the something different I was looking for in Jet Sims.
However it was buggy, looked awful and Micrprose then went bust so it looked like that was that. Then recently, I saw on youtube that a mod that has been worked on for years called BMS 4.32 for Falcon 4 had been released and it looked brilliant. They had updated the graphics to make it more modern looking, the dynamic campaign had been retained, more complexity added and more flyable planes. So I downloaded and installed it and was very impressed and was about to make a start learning to play it properly.
However, I then went on Steam and saw the release of DCS Worlds. This has even better graphics than Falcon BMS and it looked like it would be a big rival to Falcon 4 because in multiplayer at least (and hopefully in singleplater until I'm good enough to compete in multiplayer), it looks like it will or maybe already has a dynamic campaign with even more potential than Falcon 4 BMS.
I just also bought UH1 Huey but had trouble with the 1st cold start tutorial working properly (as have others in the forum). I also saw that in the Eadle Dynamics forums, one of the devs says he forgot to add radar to the tutorial so will have to write another patch. But I bought that on the understanding it was an earky access release and the manual links don't work.
So I'm gonna leave that for now until it's all working properly and concentrate on the A10.

So my question is, what do you think I should get into 1st? DCS A10 or Falcon 4 BMS 4.32?

I think DCS has a great future - things are only getting started!

If you think the graphics are good now , just wait until release their new image generation engine. We'll have some lovely scenery to look at then :)

My only beef with DCS at moment is that there are no full fidelity fast jets - but that will be fixed in the future, there are ton of fighter jets in the works.

I think DCS will be the new FSX quite shortly (at least in terms of combat sim).

There is a lot of new planes, choppers, maps, as well as different time periods coming, so its a good time to get into DCS if you ask me. I've only been playing since January and I'm still learning new things to do and having a blast.

You can get the Flaming CLiffs pack from the official site if you want some fast fighter jets (they are coming to steam soon also) but once they release a full clickable cockpit jets i'll be glued to the computer :D
for air to air and dynamic campaign, falcon 4 BMS is great. for ground attack DCS A-10C is better. They are both really great simulations but ground attack is a bit lacking in BMS... not to say its impossible or bad its just not quite as high fidelity as DCS is in that regard.
Thaks for the reply Tom
