If you are flying the Su-25t I'd suggest that you take a look at the youtube tutorials, like this one here:

Are there any free choppers to try out?

No free helos. The only free aircraft at present is the SU-25T. The only flyable helicopter presently is the Ka-50 Black Shark, although the UH-1H Huey is in beta (and is a real handful). Both of these require payment to fly, and I'm not sure the Huey is available through Steam.

I have to agree with other posters that tutorial missions would be helpful, but there are videos out there and there's a manual. The manual can be dragged and dropped onto a kindle with minimal fuss if, like me, you don't like reading on a screen. It's a bit tougher and it takes longer, but it might well be worth it.

Whether or not it's worth it is down to the individual.

Yeah I've been looking for *real* simulator for so long now and never found these Oo
Too bad about the choppers though... but if I enjoy the free game I might just buy the Black Shark ^^

I recommend it thoroughly, however it'd be best to use the free version first, if only to find out how well it runs on your PC.
