What Vr headsets do you simmers use.

I was looking at the Pimax crystal series but A) all out of stock and B) they seem to have issues.

TIA

I favour the Q3. does the job, reasonable price and you can bump up the res from default to make any system's GFX cry.

cheers, just found the Q3S for £300 so defiantly affordable compared to the £1.6k for Pimax stuff with questionable reliability

Got the Pimax crystal light last month, I have a 4070 but let me tell you, it goes from being a great sim to putting that 90s arcade feeling of excitement into your sessions, its so immersive.

check the different Q3 versions, most noticeable feature is flat lenses against fresnel's. The former is better because sweet spot of focus is bigger.

Correct
it seems the S is worse that the 3 as it has less sotrage space (whatever that means) and also has the fresnal lesnes compared to the 3 with 512GB storage and pancake lens

If you plan to use Q3 for PC games wont waste money on 256 or more RAM.

BTW buy Q3 not Q3S - "s" model has the same lenses and resolution than Q2 (I own one) and believe me that Q3 is far better.

I want to upgrade my Q3 to pimax but even tho I have a RTX4070 OC and decent components (i7 gen 11, DCS in m2, 64G RAM) I see my rig struggling with Q3 so I doubt can handle pimax :(

VR can hammer any system, so there's gonna be a little tweaking involved (in DCS) to find the best settings for you but the Q3, is (imho) am solid choice as it does lots of things well and is probably the first true consumer unit, in that it'll mostly just work.

As i mainly sim via PC I bought the smaller Storage version and have no ragrets.

other systems have more impressive stats but higher costs or are limited in their uses.

The ability to occasionally go wireless and PC free with classics like Doom3 or Quake is a real bonus.

Q2 and just upgraded to a Q3, to be honest the Q2 was decent on a link cable

Was the upgrade to Q3 worth it? I was thinking of doing this from my Q2, but I read a few things / reviews which suggested the difference wasn't that great.
i think so, ymmv.

I keep the Q2 for watching movies on as i keep it close to hand but 99pc of my time is in my Q3.

I would use my Q3 for movies but i removed the faceplate and therefore easier to grab the q2 than put the faceplate back on. But only just.

My Q2 is kept as emergency backup now and because im lazy.
