Can't Salute To Take Off From Carrier

I have the carrier DLC and the f14, but for some reason I can't salute to progress the carrier launch....

Any ideas how to fix this?

Are you saluting at night or during the day? And are you using the Salute command in the radio menu or using the shortcut (Left SHIFT + U)?

I don't think I've ever used the radio menu for saluting in the F-14, but I know the shortcut works.

At night, you're supposed to turn on your external lights instead of saluting.
