About FFB/Non-FFB issues: The best way to aviod them is to uncheck the "force feedback" options in misc. options menu in DCS:W. There are known issues when people let it turned on while they don't own FFB stick.
Not sure whats that supposed to mean, but Ive seen discussions about "how DCS:W is ment to be played". Conclusion is that nobody knows, but a lot of people take their opinion very seriously.
Its also doccumented the stick performs weirdly with it disabled. Like having a massive deadzone, and IDK if the way it controls become ultrasensitive at lower speeds is really how its supposed to work.
The spring of that stick is absolutely fine and accurate, while granting a nice range and very precise movement. TBH I actually highly doubt that you've ever had your own hands on that setup when reading this.
The T16k FCS HOTAS is by far the best option for an entry level and anything in that price category. Maybe with the only exception beeing the helos that desperately need accurate rudder inputs, it will def allow anyone to operate every other ff module in DCS just perfectly fine no matter what you're trying to do.
If you can not manage to AR the F-16 with that stick then it's def a skill issue.
Sorry, no offense, but nobody needs high end peripherals to effectively play DCS at all. That's just an absolute misconception only being made by people with some serious luxury problems.
I used the trial option on both and ultimately decided for the F-16. The reasons were largely subjective but I liked it more.
If you are looking for one more reasons to justify a purchase, the F-16 also has that wonderful unrestricted canopy where you feel you are in a convertible.
It is also a hell of a mod and you can spend years training on it. But that goes for the F-18 as well, so either of them is a great choice.
It's smooth, precise and excellent in dog fights. The only issue normally mentioned is the sticky throttle which is sorted by loosening the tension screw off and using it gently, rather than what most people that complain do and drag it around like a Gorilla. I've had no problems with A2A refuelling or anything else and I'm fine using it to fly helicopters using the flaps as rudders, don't use the twist axis at all.
There's a guy on YouTube that flies with keyboard and mouse and you would never know, he embarrasses some of the ones using high end HOTAS, they are fine with it though and just say how skilful he is. Some of the ED staff claim best way to go is controller, might try it one day just to see.
Had my T.16000M for around 5 years now, still just the same as the day it came out the box and just as precise. The T.16000M replaced my old X52 and pedals and is much better, prefer it to the X56 as well. I've had loads of different HOTAS and Joysticks over the years and Thrustmaster always comes out top of the list, still got an old Thrustmaster T.Flight that's over 8 years old and works like new.
