This person gave the same review to another "MMO" game, is online game that is required connected. His only "evidence" is an online game that keeps trying to "re-connect" servers after he disconnects and plugs the internet back in. what?
And this "various online endpoints", still just Eagle dynamic itself:

Multiple streams of www.digitalcombatsimulator.com is a main DRM and user login portal located in Swiss Xelon AG. also provide "ingame news".
1 stream of stat.digitalcombatsimulator.com is multiplayer gameapi server and DCS forums in france OVH. "Total currently active players" in DCS profile page and MP page is also collected via this URL.
There is no various, and all are owned by the first party.
After logging in, the socket remains in close_wait state and TCP connection is already disconnected. No abnormal activities.
Compare with others, like steam EA uplay ms windows itself. If you do not play multiplayer, then DCS.exe has a quite small network footprint compared with everything else. Everyone is homing to their base server all the time, you have to be off the grid and live in cave , and never touch any modern devices:

Some how DCS is different than any of those. his half-ass unprofessional investigation rise lot of attention on reddit and steam.
however there isn't free of concern to DCS, and somehow this so called professionals have missed the critical point:
https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/authorization/
DCS is using "semi online DRM" which requires internet activation to verify the module every 3 days. the internet activities mentioned are mostly initiated by DRM.
A Borderline semi always on DRM but much less timidly. You can still play without internet within 3 days. But it offers an offline mode that you can play indefinitely without internet with standalone clients. Although it called "offline" mode, the DCS client is still trying connect to www.digitalcombatsimulator.com to get the.. "news", but it's 100% blockable. If your definition of "security" require you to be "terminally offline" then you do you.. You can be skeptical about DRM potentially exploited by the bad actors and initiate a supply chain attack. But they are everywhere. It's your choice to accept this type of practice or not. i will respect that.
Which is a concern for users who are heavily against DRM practices.
ED only keep adding up their DRM and anti piracy measurement.
It will only got more not less DRM which is quite sad because most of time only legit owner get interrupted due to those server issues.
You cna ignore it.
This review have made me laught:

Because I present DCS:W as the opposite of Train Sim World. Because in TSW you have to buy all addons again with every new version of game. In my opinion the TSW gets too small updateds to proclaim them as new sequel.
Not to mention, yeah, that post is either ChatGPT or a non-native speaker with a weird vocabulary.
Thank you everyone who responded. Disappointing that further investigation of the player at question draws concern over the validity of the review. I appreciate all those who have responded. It would seem that the review in question is now the "highest" or "most helpful" which shows at the top. So you can see why it brought me pause as I am sure of others as well. I will look into downloading the game maybe during the night or something; it is over 200 gigs+ lol...
sorry for the late reply, just finished the weekend.
The review looks to be a questionable one, and it looks like a similar one was also done for WT. As some users have already mentioned above could be a chatgpt one.
DCS Network, ports and protocols are well known and have not changed in many years.
