DCS World Steam Edition

DCS World Steam Edition

SU-27 - Can not enter cockpit & take control - Bug?
I have bought the Flaming-Cliffs pack, tried flying Mig29S & G, works.
Su-33 works.

With Su-27: I want to enter training, or any other kind of mission, also in multiplayer:

I can't enter the cockpit. On MP it just shows the map -> F1 -> nothing happens. Every other bird works.

In this one training-mission I downloaded of of the eagle.ru forum I can even observe (F2 external view) "me" or rather the A.I. with my name-tag on it, how I start the engines, go to taxi and take off - but the plane is completly controlled by AI!

I have not mods installed for this bird, tried varifying game-cache (it found some missiong files) to no avail :(
Has anyone encountered this bug and/or knows a solution?

Google couldn't help me so far :(

Follow these steps, but begin with:

9- Select "Library" in the Steam menu, right click DCS World and select "Properties". A new window will appear, here select the "Local Files" tab and select "Verify Integrity of Game Cache".

hi there i have the same problem did you solved??
Hi! Indeed I think I got it solved! I found a "su27.dll" in the "DCSworld\bin\" folder!
Since plane-files should only be in their respective folders in "\mods\aircrafts\" I thought this to be the problem.
I renamed the suspicious file so I could revover it if necessary -> and after restarting DCS it worked!!
Feel free ascing again if my description didn't help ;)

Sounds like a faulty installer in the Steam version.
Personally, I never had any, as in none at all, issues running all modules in the stand-alone install and the beta.

Great!! I wasn't sure myself if that was the problem! Thanks for confirming :D

I'm also not sure whether a Mod (texture or sound or whatever) might have been the reason for this dislocated DLL :P

it's a strange thing i try to find more about and i think this only hapens on the steam version and with few people, dont know about texture but the dll that was in the bin folder have 150(+ -) kbts and the one in the aircraft folder has 90 kbts maybe that was a dll for something else

I opened this thread because I didn't find anything on the Eagle-ru forum (which hints @ problems with Steam), and also didn't find anything on Steam (which hints at rarity of problem.
I also have no idea why different file-size :(
For insurence I renamed it, instead of just deleting it ^^
Maybe it's a kind of AI-script for the plane... No clue :(
