What HOTAS u guys use?
What do You recommend for black shark or ac? Of course I know the one that costs 500 dollars but lets just say I dont have .5k to spend. Whad would you recommend with a lot of buttons and this cool looking switch buttons on the thrust in a reasonable price of course (that works well with DCS).

Anyone know of single throttles? I contacted Saitek and they couldn't help me, even with a referb. I already have a stick that i feel is perfect, a thrustmaster t16000m (great for wwii and space sim) but I can't find a good throttle alone. I feel like it is a need so I may break into the more modern sim games.

Look into the CH Pro Throttle if you can find it in stock anywhere. As I mentioned earlier their supplier was having trouble and a sa result CH is having trouble getting parts to build their product. That said, while their stuff looks like it was developed for the 80's, you'll have a hard time finding better gear. Truth be told, the actual build quality (internal soldering and such) exceeds that of the Thrustmaster Warthog. The down side is they do use very high quality pots instead of hall effect sensors.

While this is true, they are the highest quality (duty cycle) dash pots. CH products also makes industrial joysticks and apply thier knowledge to their computer joystick peripherals. My experience is that they will last quite a while.

I don't disagree at all. A great many are still using their old CH joystick/throttle/pedal combo's from back when they needed serial ports. They are high quality products. I just like to give the full disclosure.

Well, you ask what I use and for obvious reasons I have a Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog stick and throttle. Yes, it is expensive but definatly worth it. Like many others I started of with a toy-grade stick which did the job. But the cheaper sticks really can't be compared to the Warthog. If I had to buy a new stick today I would seriously consider the VKB Black Mamba.
Thats a pretty cool stick, although after having the warthog for some time now, nothing really compares, unless they make an f-18 hotas with quality like the warthog i am not switching :)

I use X-55 Rhino - its a pretty good set up.

F-18 HOTAS would not be that much different from the A-10C HOTAS.

There's bit of difference at top of stick (three selectors side-by-side instead of four in square).
Also there's two buttons on throttle where A-10C has one and the hat is not there.

I also have a Thrustmaster T-flight HOTAS X and find it good to use. Not that many buttons but when combined with 2 tablets (1 droid, 1 apple) running the free version of iControl DCS, its brilliant to play

I have the Saitek X-55 Advanced Control Flight System for my HOTAS.
Takao May 7, 2015 @ 7:18am
using the X-55 which replaced my broken old Sidewinder 2. The programming software is trash and the grip is not that great. Waiting for them custom grips that some people have plans to produce. :]

I have to agree the grip is a little bit large for my hand which makes using the hat switches difficult.
I use some old Saitek ST90. It's probably the cheapest you can buy, but it serves me well.

My setup. It's all dirty :)

I used to be using the throttle unit of a Saitek F-52 Pro and an ST290 Joystick for flight simulators.

My current setup. http://i.imgur.com/lJm11rx.jpg

The monitor in the center and the one to the left are connected to the black cube shaped PC on the left. That's my main gaming machine. Under main monitor is my Logitech G19s Gaming Keyboard. Next to it on the left is a Logitech G13 Gaming Pad. The round device just in-front of the left corner of the main monitor is a 3Dconnexion 6 axis 3d mouse, the Saitex X-55 Throttle is under my table on the left sitting on-top of an old empty case. The Saitex X-55 Joystick is under my table on the right. Out of sight is my X-Box 360 Wireless Receiver. Everything is plug into my PC via USB at the back of the computer.

I could add my ST290, but again, no way to tell the game to use that device instead of something else at random.
