A-10C noob - Can't start Tutorial (LOL)

Just picked up A-10C on sale but I can't even start the Tutorial! After loading I'm prompted to "Press Pause / Break to Start Tutorial", but when I press those buttons, nothing happens. Boo.

Am I doing something wrong? The only Pause & Break keys I see on my keyboard are Home/Pause and End/Break at the top-right of the keyboard. Is there another button I should press? I tried Escape but it just made the Start Tutorial prompts completely disappear. I noticed there's a "Fly" button at the bottom of the screen. Should I toggle that with my mouse?

Boy am I a dunce if I can't even fire up the tutorial. Can't wait until I REALLY get started. :p

Yes, you should press the "Fly" first. It is there to allow you to read the briefing first.

Pause-mode is when you see a "pause" icon in top-right (white vertical bars over yellow circle).

Instructions could be clearer in this perhaps.

I was going to suggest using the Function Key (Fn) with the Pause/Break button on a laptop.
But seems much easier, yes, just hit fly, and when pressed ESC hit resume, or if you already pressed ESC out of the menu, press Pause/Break and if doesn't work ESC to the menu.

Anyways, my real suggestion is not to fixate on the DCS level aircraft start-up procedure, but to skip to the navigation and weapons employment. You can always use the auto-start shortcut Win Key + Home, and once you learn how to employ the weapons, you can always get back to the manual start-up procedure.

throwing switches is easy, knowing your instruments and how to navigate is the hard portion.

to many fixate on the clicking of switches and ignore the actual flying, I'm with AiR FoRCe on this one to skip startup and learn how to fly it, naviagte with it and take off and land with it as first major goals.
