MIG 21 BIS how to use AA missiles

Hello, I have dificulities to use AA missiles in MIG21 training mission. Everything is se up as sugested in training. Finally I lock target, I hear locking sound, I fire... but missile doesnt start. What do I miss?

Master arm on?
Is your fire weapon button properly mapped?

only weapon that im actually able to fire is cannon. I suppose missiles are fired with same button so mapping schould not be a problem

Well on US airplane it's not the same button. There is one button for guns and one different button for missiles/bombs. I dont know about the mig-21 though

There's your problem. Gun Trigger ≠ Weapon Release

You need to hold the weapon release button for 1-2 seconds in order to fire A-A missiles.

As with all high fidelity DCS modules reading the manual helps a lot to understand the aircrafts systems.

They are not the same button.
The training and the manual are your friends.
