My priority is that it needs to be compatible with UH1/MI8 (i dont like jets) and it needs to be solid... i dont wanna plastic peace of cr.ap that breaks in a week..
Personally I use a TM HOTAS Warthog and love it, but that said joysticks and throttles are a "near enough" solution for helos. They do not perfectly mimic the flight inputs of cyclic and collective, though you are more likely to notice the disparity with the joystick TBH.

This is because of the force trim system most choppers have, and which a joystick is very bad at replicating. That said, real cyclics / collectives will set you back a grand or so, so its impractical (if they even have the force feedback necessary anyway).

Flying the Huey with the Warthog is a steep learning curve but I am getting there. Its mass of buttons does help with managing the trim system - I have the pinky lever set as "trim reset" and the weapon release thumb button as the trim set, just like on the Huey. Then I switch on the trim recentering option in DCS, which means the new trimmed setting of the stick will not be applied until you let your joystick recenter.

May all sound confusing if you haven't tried the Huey yet! The Black Shark and the Mi-8 are slightly more cooperative beasts.

Sorry I cannot advise on your choices, but the warthog is a great piece of engineering.

ye i have UH1 now and i love it but its hard to control on keyboard :D i had to redefine lot of keys but im getting to it ... i play also a lot of war thunder and arma.. im not keen fan of joysticks in general and i dont play ,,control demanding,, sims at all... except for DCS which i love now escpecially choppers.. ... so im looking for something thats gonna fit for me.. i also had in my eye logitech 3D pro but i read forums that say its good for short-term gaming ... that after coulpe months it will kinda break..

i have a lot of + revies on thrumaster joysticks.. yes warthog seem according to most of people best choice but i still wanna stay on mid/lower pricing and everybody says so far T-flight hotas x is the best .. i saw a lot of videos about X52 is bieng crap for its pricing which makes me to go for HOTAS ..

Thats why im looking for someone who has experience with both preferably to compare:-/
All of them are plastic and will wore out eventually. I would go for old MS sidewinder if you can find it somewhere in good condition, as it is according to many one of the best FF stick with high quality:price ratio. Not in production for like 10years though, searching for it might become difficult.

Thrustmaster T16000M is quite solid, has magnetic sensors, but internals are same soft plastic like in their cheap hotas system and when it wears out, it will cause slack controls, but for the money it is valid option for few years of use (depending on you, the user of course).

Or instead you can try the russian Defender M5 Cobra...some pieces are better, some worse so it is a gamble, but overall a very decent oldschool heavy stick. Mine holds without problem (it uses magnetic sensors as well, but got stronger internals compared to T16k, however it developed slight jitter on twist rudder axis which uses potentiometers only, so I would go for pedals with any of those sticks, or buy one of those many mods it can be equipped with - magnetic twist sensor, metal internals, extensions, axis, knobs etc or diy projects).

Saiteks, the cheaper ranges at least are biggest gamble, because they use light plastics and shoddy wiring, but the standard price is not adequate to the quality imo.

TLDR: Not entirely sure if those are compatible with helis or not, but I would go with either T16k or M5 Cobra (or whatever new product they might have introduced meanwhile as successor, if any) + pedals + headtrack (freetrack, tracknoir, etc if you dont'want to spend on trackir). Hope it helps, čus!
Yeah the warthog is very expensive, that is true :( Do you by any chance have an account over at the Eagle Dynamics forums? There are a ton of very experienced, super helfpul guys (maybe even gals too, but I think they are hiding) over there and I am sure you will be able to find good advice on joystick comparisons there. Some of those guys have probably used every joystick since 1993 :D

in future im going for TrackIR 5 for sure... but thats other thing..
Sure everything you guys suggest is helpful..
M5 cobra... well i looked into it and i must say i dont like it like that HOTAS ..

so far im choosing thrumaster T-flight hotas x .. i really like all the control system (ill still be able to use keyboard/mouse meanwhile using this right for control right? ..
is there some major thingy why should i NOT buy it?
It looks like a nice stick, I am guessing it has twist rudder on it? The only things that I would want would be more buttons (you can never have enough) and a set of rudder pedals, as twist rudder can be hard to balance. I've not heard bad things about it though. The X-52 I have heard a loit of complaints about, that the spring is weak, has a lot of 'play / backlash' in its movement, and that its a cheap construction for what you pay.The X52 will solve the buttons issue however. A lot of people are quite happy with their X52 despite its flaws. Its also a perfect match for the stick in Elite, if you will be playing that.

I think if you are fairly new to DCS then the HOTAS X will be fine, though if the bug really bits and you fall in love with DCS (probability rating: 93.2% :D) you may find yourself one day lusting over upgrades.

Of course, stick is just additional controller and you can plug in as many as your system allows to.

Why not to buy it? Well I would say all round use of potentiometers (rather cheap ones since it is also cheapest hotas system on the market, while even used to be - not sure if it still is - cheaper than T16k standalone stick), which should say something about it, as they are both T products. It should last at least some time without problems though. Of course, hotas as system is always better than standalone stick + keyboard, but you can always offset it with additional quadrants and/or controllers/axis to make your own hotas. Also my freetrack 6dof diy project costed me 8E to make, but that is different thing as you say. I'm waiting for VR to develop and become affordable as that is the next step.

If you get the Hotas X, pray tell how it behaves after like 50~100 hours of heavy use, after it runs-in, as I'm myself curious about the endurance and input precision. Cheers!
well so far what i found about endourance of hotas x.. it depends on individual pieces(some pieces are simply bad manufactured) and users- meaning how gentle people use it... it can last from months to years depending on this a lot they say

I use a Thrustmaster 16000M mainly because not a lot else was available to me. I've used it for 2 years now, not that regularly and for playing games/sims casually I find it good, not a lot of complaints.

The good thing is it has a lot of buttons which comes in useful.

The bad thing is it doesn't really look that aesthetically pleasing for a stick: Concerning how it looks relative to an actual stick. For me it was good for learning though, due to all the buttons.

I can't really vouch for durability because I only played with it for like 5 months, mostly casually, in the 2 years I had it. I still use it to this day.

So I have no complaints with the stick, but I may want to upgrade to something else eventually that looks more like a realistic stick. But on the otherhand good for learning, as a lot of buttons. For myself I wouldn't upgrade to the Thrustmaster X though because it just looks like more of the same.

I use the top two left and right buttons on the stick for rudders when using the Huey, it was the best solution I could find, not having actual rudders. I am still having problems but lets hope its due to practice with the Huey. That concerns me about Thrustmaster X you mentioned, that it is missing the two top buttons on the stick, left and right, which you can use for rudders. Guess it depends how comfortable you are using the Z and X keys on the keyboard for rudders, but I didn't like using keys for rudders.

I dont' have any real knowledge to pass on here, since I haven't played the X, but I would pick the 16000M personally over Thrustmaster X. It could come down to ones preference.

I have also only played the Huey concerning DCS' helicopters.

Well, if you want the best go for the TM HOTAS Warthog. I have gone through a fair number of sticks during my flight simmin' years and I have read every review at least twice and watched all unboxing and test videos before bying one. Now and wouldn't go back for anything. The build quality is excellent and the precision and feel is amazing. Sure, it does cost an arm and a leg but it is worth it for anyone serious about flight sims. My old $20 and even $100 sticks can't be compared to it.

My next problem was rudder pedals and after doing my research (again) I decided to order the MFG Crosswinds from MFG Simundza (http://mfg.simundza.com/mfgcrosswind.php). Expected delivery is in December (the Crosswinds are handmade and produced in small batches). I hope I did my research properly this time as well...

If the Crosswinds are too expensive for your taste the only option is the Saitek Combat Rudder pedals.

Those top two left and right buttons on the Thrustmaster 16000M are a saving grace for me using the Huey. Just had a near perfect take-off with the Huey. One of my relatives was right you have to predict how the helicopter will act and act before it does. Which if you read the manual you can do.

Now I have to learn my landings which I'm pretty terrible at.
I've onwed a T.16M for ages, and found no problems with reliability, and its precision is excellent. Twist rudder and throttle, as well as plenty of buttons. Very good bang for the buck.
