(Solved) How do I use Helios

I recently purchased DCS A-10C on steam because I wanted to use the Helios add on; however, I can’t figure out how to use it correctly. When it asked for the install path for the A-10C I tried several paths including:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld
  
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\A-10C
  
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit

Whenever I would test it, I would add an ADI and add the pitch and bank to it then I would save the profile. The ADI still doesn’t move at all. Can anyone tell me how to correctly setup and use Helios please and thank you in advance.

Unless you have a VERY powerful machine (and I mean P O W E R F U L !) I advise against running Helios on the same PC as you are planning to play on. My rig is above average and Helios sends me down far in terms of framerate. To unplayable levels. Most hardcore simmers that use Helios have it running on a separate machine.

Does it really ask you for the install path to the plane and not DCS itself? Can't remember since it was some time since I used it. And do you have .NET framework properly installed on your machine? If I'm not mistaken there are some pretty good Youtube tutorials available.

I would go directly to gadroc's workshop but due to spam the forums were taken down and the data was lost, so im not able to use already existing forums.
In addition, my computer should have all the .NET framework installed, I have seen some youtube videos but they do not experience the same issues, and yes it does ask for the install path of the A-10C.
I will look into the .NET framework, but it should be installed on my computer properly.

can helios only be used in multiplayer since it asks for an ip and port?

No... Helios runs as a server. Thats why you can have it on a external machine connected to your gaming machine through your network.

oh i forgot to say how i fixed it i went to the saved games/dcs folder under my username created the folder 'Scripts' and then put the export lua there. thank you for taking the time to address my problem

Helios is over rated unless you are useing like a whole pit setup...you best off just to use the VTB view ports.

The problem is that Helios doesn't do anything to the game and doesn't update according to the game. I just can't seem to get it to work. I have head tracking, Voice Attack, and view ports set up and working. Helios is just being difficult and I don't know why.

Well, I have been trying to get this working for 6 days. Haven't posted there yet. Maybe I should.

My issue, now that I think of it, may be that I have all my folders such as Desktop, Contacts, Downloads, and Saved Games on my F drive and not my C drive. DCS and/or Helios may not recognize the new location. I'm assuming Helios is the one having the problem. I just don't know how to point it the right way.
