Stuttering Issues in DCS Despite High-End Hardware
I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to report an issue I’ve been experiencing in DCS, specifically related to stuttering during gameplay. Despite having a robust system configuration, I am encountering sudden freezes that seem to coincide with texture loading from the hard drive.

Here are my system specifications for reference:

RAM: 32GB

Hard Drive (F:): A new and tested M.2 SSD, which should provide more than enough performance for smooth gameplay.

windows 11

geforce 4070

Even with this setup, I notice that the stuttering occurs when there is a noticeable spike in disk activity related to texture loading. This is particularly frustrating as my hardware should, in theory, handle the game without such issues.

Could you please provide any insights or suggestions to resolve this problem? Are there any known issues or settings I should adjust to mitigate this stuttering? I’d be happy to provide additional details or logs if needed to help diagnose the issue.

You are not alone with stuttering issues, i get it on my rig as well.. What resolution, graphics settings, and are you playing MP or single player? Ideally you should have more the 32GB RAM to play this game to be honest....
I had a stutter issue that I couldn't figure out. Found out it was MSI Afterburner. Closed/uninstalled it. Stutter is now gone. So if you are using an GPU overclock software. Try turning it off.

Also go into windows defender and exempt DCS/Savegame folders.

Good Luck

Yes. there is known general performance issue that can be caused by MSI Afterburner or similar monitoring software.

i know this issue probably. history repates itself. goto the games folder and find the exe file. right click, features, compatability, check the box in the "compatability mode" section and select probably windows 8 but it if doesnt work you can try win 7 too. if you cant find the exe file or it doesnt work pls comment.

idk maybe thats not it
If you use process lasso, disable it.
Also you may try to set lower mouse pooling rate
I really hope ED pays attention to this - with every update performance seems to get worse and worse. Please ED optimise your game as a priority - there is no point in new modules if people cannot play them. I get it as a company you want to maximise profit for your shareholders etc, if you want to have maximum profit it would make sense to make the game more accessible to a wider audience who may not have top end computers.

I had to reconfigure many times on my current setup and spent a significant amount of cash on upgrades just to keep up with the updates. My current setup is an RTX 4070Ti 12GB VRAM, 80GB DDR4 RAM, 2 TB SSD, i5 13500K CPU - i had to dial terrain settings to LOW and shadows OFF in order for VRAM usage to not sit at 99%. This was not the case approximately 12 months ago where I can max all settings and be around 80% VRAM on average in Syria, Persia or Caucasus.

I fear the next update will make the game unplayable with my current setup and have to spend more money (money i don't have) just to run it. It doesnt make sense that games like WarThunder and Ace Combat 7 have decent looking terrain and average VRAM usage is hovering at around 50%. Something needs to change ED, please optimise your game so we can keep supporting your products
