Wrong, stop calling it arcade. It's no more arcade then Flying Falcon 4.0 which was the preeminent simulator for year. Ace combat is arcade. The FC3 planes are anything but arcade.
FC3 simply lack the complete depth and complexity of the newer planes. Still not arcade
Don't make me laugh, sunshine.... The F15C for DCS World is an arcade-sim in comparison to the full fidelity DCS plane modules.... and I can tell you that the Falcon 4/BMS flight model is still the most accurate flight model for a simulated F16 on the PC-sim market today... You obviously need to brush-up on your knowledge-base mate....
If Falcon 4/BMS had the graphics of DCS World then DCS world would be in a whole heap of trouble...
DCS World still needs a huge amount of polishing-up and features adding before it can actually claim top spot for realism & more importantly, the shear immersion factor which DCS World unfortunately doesn't even scratch the paint work on F4/BMS in regards to that category as yet.
Lacking depth and complexity is certainly one definition of "arcade" when it comes to games. Check any strategy game's complaints and you'll often see "dumbed down" and "arcade game" when it's deemed too simple for the person complaining.
People recommend the FC3 planes because they lack depth and complexity. Nothing wrong with arcade-like complexity, just like there's nothing wrong with study-sim depth.
It's been awhile since I flew the Su-33 (my only FC3 module) but I don't recall needing 50+ buttons to get into the air and shoot stuff down. Hell, if I autostart the Hornet, I don't need 50+ buttons to get into the air and shoot stuff down.
For the record, ED has stated the flight model of the FC3 planes use the same model as the full fidelity planes. The arcade term is limited to the avionics of those planes, which are simpler and dumbed down compared to the othher planes.
I feel like if im blacking out or ripping my wings off from turning too fast... we left the arcade genre behind some stops ago :)
my next purchase will be the cristen bi-plane. wingman training and acrobatics my goal, this helps train for dogfighting too. But strongly recommend having fun. if it's not fun, try a simpler aircraft, youtube has videos and scenarios thru grim reapers and growling sidewinders... tutorials galore!!!
