If you're on Windows, then it's most likely Windows Defender that is removing the file. Check your protection history.

Youre right it was Windows Defender that was deleting G:\Programy\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F14\bin\F14-HeatblurCommon.dll, when i restore it and added the DCS folder to exceptions it helped, much appriciated for the tip :)

Windows defender is attacking heatblurcommon.dll as severe.
They must have updated and broken something (AGAIN, and again, and again)
Microshaft sux!!!
Can confirm this issue, f14 again blocked by windows defender.

this is an issue ED need to deal with, as i pointed out before they should not be requesting users bypass anti-virus software.

You can send file to the test lab of your antivirus provider. Most probably the result will be: safe. ED is not responsible for false positives. How they could be.

I also started to have this issue and I am trying to redownload DCS world and I am getting errors in the download about missing files.

edit: I notice that when I try to reinstall my windows defender is triggered so I think this is coming from that.

Trojan:Win32/Etset!rfn

it pops up everytime I try to install and it shows it in the F-14 DCS world folder.

F14-HeatblurCommon.dll

I deselected the F-14 in my DLC manager and it was able to install the game fully so I am going to guess that either someone got some malware in an update for DCS world through the F-14 or it is giving a false positive.

Try to upload file to virustotal
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload

According to AliCloud you will see it is VMprotect. The DRM I was talking about.
Same according to CTX and NOD32 and Lionic. Most often found by heuristic analysis.

VMProtect is in the grey area because it is legal software that can be used for illegal activities. For this reason, detection by different antiviruses may be different.

There is no choice but to either uninstall the product or trust the developers.

Geminy says:
VMProtect detection alone does not mean that a file is malicious.
However, it is important to be careful and verify the origin of the file.
If you are unsure, it is always better to be cautious and delete the file.

DRM is getting out of hand.

I've had my entire DCS folder excempt from windows defender for at least 2 years, and I have no other antivirus or firewalls, yet I too now got the F14 thing, it showed up today, no problem a few days ago.

Its just encrypted files to protect our IP, otherwise people steal the work.

The AV is creating the problem, you can exclude DCS from the scan and run a verify and it will work.

thank you

Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F14\bin\F14-HeatblurCommon.dll

Were all three in the Bin folder? Having the same issue, had to outright pause active scanning for it to stop. Soon as I turn it back on again, I can’t find heatblurcommon.dll
