Newer PS3 Eye for headtracking [working and sharper than ever]

Hey guys, in case you have the "bad version" of the PS3 eye and cannot remove the IR-filter without messing up the objective's sharpness, due to the 5mm thick lens which is part of the filter, I've found a good solution to use this camera anyway for headtracking if you have some other stuff lying around.

You actually need another objective of any broken camera (with about the same dimensions) like an Arlo surveillance camera (which you can get as defective for 5-10 bucks on eBay). You disassemble it and grab it's objective which's base is like 99% of the same size of the PS3 Eye and has an IR-filter which is SUPER easy to remove (just pull it out - no cutting).

Before you replace the objective finally, you will see that the camera is unsharp a bit because the objective is farer away from the sensor than the original objective. That's good because you can decrease this distance and gain perfect sharpness!

Take a file and file the plastic base down until you reach 100% sharpness. Now you have a super-sharp 75-187 FPS full-spectrum-camera which can see IR. :D You can already use it in this state because IR-LEDs are super bright and software will have no problems seeing the dots.

Optional you now cut a floppy disk, insert it within the object and glue it on. Now the camera can only see IR-lights (because the floppy disk material only passes mostly IR-light). After that glue or screw the objective on the PS3 Eye's PCB and you're done.

PS: Video is postprocessed and in 25Hz. When you use it with open-track it's perfectly sharp and not jittering at all at 75Hz.
