The reason it has that number is possibly due to minor bug with Oculus Rift support.
You can ignore that value if you have correct resolution and looks ok.
It is just a bug. It appeared when Oculus Rift support was added.
You can ignore it if all looks ok.
It's not really a bug, 1.778 is the same as 16:9.
Dividide 1920 by 1080 = 1.778
Dividide 16 by 9 = 1.778
man you got some social skills!
although is the OP wanting to force different aspect for some reason? maybe he wishes 4:9 ratio so things are just bigger. (only reason i can think of)
Its just a display bug... in the lua code they could just add a line that says if aspectratio = 1.7777778 then displayratio = "16:9" or something....
such a minor thing to worry about but still it is a bug afterall and something that should get fixed eventually to save from all the confusion.
edit: I made a pun by mistake "a display bug" :P
but you are right its not technically a bug but no ones gonna get that 1.77778 is correct aspect for 16:9 displays we aren't all mathematicians here and therefore it would be nice to have it convert to ratio for known aspects.
Nitpicking but here goes.. Mathematically they are not same as the decimal format is rounded and has slight error in last decimal due to it. 16:9 division format is always accurate, but limited by what computers can use from it.
In practice both are rounded to the same value so no actual difference but theoretically speaking they are not the same.
Welcome to the internet :P
Oh, you haven't been to the main DCS forums yet. Make sure your driving heavy armor with NBC protection addons (especially if you try to debate with some of the mods).
Its pretty polite here.
