CCIP Mode Not Working
I've been trying to play through the Unguided Bombs portion of the Su-25T training, but the very first training mission I follow the instructor's orders exactly and can't get the bomb to drop at all. I did what he said by lining up the target with the pipper, waiting for L.A. to show up in the HUD, and then hitting space. I tried a YouTube suggestion and held down space "until it released", but it never released and I either ran straight into the ground or gave up early and tried pulling up just barely enough to not hit the ground and my wings would fall off due to excessive G forces, despite the fact that my throttle was down, my airbrakes were deployed, and my flaps were in the Maneuver position and I was still gaining an excess of 700 km/hr after beginning the dive at under 500 km/hr.

I ended up ignoring the issue and went on to CCRP training, and when that went smoothly I decided I'd just always use CCRP.

Then the next mission involves, oh I don't remember what it's called, but it basically defaults to CCIP. The instructor says I can choose between CCIP and CCRP, but not only is it never mentioned How, but it's also not mentioned in the controls and everything I've found online says that it switches between CCIP and CCRP automatically depending on the altitude, angle of attack, etc. But the problem is I have never once gotten a bomb to drop in CCIP mode.

How do you do it? How do you get a bomb to drop in CCIP mode? PLEASE don't link me to some video, I've watched 40 videos about this and what they say DOESN'T WORK, or ISN'T SPECIFIC.

Thanks for your help.

its quite simple really, in order to drop in CCIP you have to be already withing the release point otherwise it will think you wish to designate a spot for a CCRP drop... watch the video and note the HUD terminology change, because i am within range the pipper will get a line on it signifying that its in CCIP... there is no magic to it, if you try and drop when its not withing CCIP parameters its gonna not give you that line, almost all level bombing will be CCRP and wings level dive for CCIP or dive bomb like in video... theres nothing you do besides put it within parameters and release.

Okay... Except that third Air to Ground tutorial I mentioned where he says I can choose between the two forces me into CCIP. It's not a divebomb, it's perfectly level flight. When he gave me the option I immediately thought "Oh, I'll just do CCRP", so it'd be no problem to me for it to think I was trying to do CCRP. However, when IT decides to do CCIP, it's as if Space doesn't work. It won't "accidentally" switch to CCRP, in fact it does absolutely nothing. Plus, on your video it looks straight forward. In my game, I only get one pipper. In yours, you get 2; One to mark the target, and the other to align with the target. The only one I get is the one to align the target, which it obviously won't accept that I'm lining it up even when it's lined up.

In other words, I wouldn't have this question if my game looked like yours did just now. There's no "launch perameters", the only thing relevant to launch perameters that I see is the line coming from the Pipper and the L.A. sympol on the HUD (which I assume stands for Launch Authorization, which doesn't mean ♥♥♥♥ apparently because it won't let me launch ANYTHING.)

Are you _literally_ using the space bar?`

In that case, that's possibly a bug in the mission. Use a joystick button instead, or rebind it to a different keyboard key.

In case that was the issue, here you can find a fixed version of the training mission: http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/533149/05--Su-25T-CCIP-Mode-Unguided-Bombs-B-miz.html

Place it in:
..\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Su-25T\Missions\EN\Training\Combat Employment\1\

Then rename to remove the "_B", replacing the old file.

This will fix the mission for you.

If rebinding the Launch Weapon to something other than Space could actually help, then is Enter binded to anything? I used to use that in A-10 Attack so I considered that as an option but decided to leave everything as default instead. But it happens in more than one mission, the one you posted a fix to and the one after the CCRP training mission.

I'll check to see if rebinding that key would help at all. Has that actually fixed anything in the past?

I checked the training mission, and it does suffer from a known mission design bug that is waiting to be deployed in a patch. It does not affect normal gameplay, only the Su-25T training missions.

What happens is that the training mission will have one of those "Press Space to continue" thingies early on, and that bugs out due to a small oversight in scripting the missions, meaning that when you later press space to launch weapons, that button press is getting "intercepted". The fixed training mission I posted above remedies this through explicitly ending the waiting call.

The bug slipped through because almost no-one actually uses keyboard to play DCS, so it sort of flew under the radar.

The Enter key is bound to Target Lock. You can see if something is bound through selecting Controls > Layer Su-25T > Category All, and then just pressing the key you are wondering about. If it is bound, it will highlight the function it is bound to. If you decide you don't particularly care about whatever it was bound to, you can click "Clear" and then go to bind it to Weapon Release.

However, again, note that this bug only affects the Su-25T training missions. It will not affect any other mode of play.

Does it affect all the training missions or just the ones involving CCIP? If it's all of them, how can I fix it without having to wait for the patch? Is there already a patch out there, and if not how long would I have to wait for it?

Thanks for your help.

You can fix it yourself through the mission editor, through opening the training mission (location as listed previously), selecting the trigger list, finding the last trigger that contains under "Actions":

START WAIT USER RESPONSE (xx, xxx)

Then, in the one after (or two after, only has to be before you launch weapons, click "NEW" under the Action list, and as ACTION select:

STOP WAIT USER RESPONSE ()

Then save the mission. That's it.

Have you tried the fixed mission I linked previously?

Also, I'm afraid I don't have the ETA for that patch on hand. It seems like it won't be the next one. Worst case, I'll just package the fixed ones myself during the weekend and link them to you. (I am unfortunately travelling tomorrow, so can't set it up friday.)

I haven't had time. I'll definitely let you know if it works, and if it does work I'll have to profusely thank you lol

Just an update, your fixed mission file worked perfectly. Not only was I able to drop bombs in a dive in CCIP mode, but I was also able to double back and drop bombs in CCRP mode because I completely missed the target on the first pass. Excellent work, thank you. I'll let you know which missions I fix on my own if I even do, but if I don't post here though it's safe to assume I didn't do anything :P

Thanks again, I appreciate it.

Okay, I fixed the other mission that was giving me a hard time, I can edit any others that give me a hard time, thank you for this valuable information.

Awesome. :)

Old thread I know but the problem rears it's head again in 1.5.3 for me.
The edit fix didn't work But removing English Cockpit mod Did.
What I did notice when reverting the mission edit fix is that the original started working.
I tried it with another problematic Training Mission and the simple Save solved the problem.
Maybe it's a protocol thing but simply loading in to Mission Editor and Saving again unchanged fixed it for me.
