You can also move pilot's position:
"RSHIFT + RCTRL + Num 8" move pilot up.
"RSHIFT + RCTRL + Num 2" move pilot down.
"RSHIFT + RCTRL + Num 6" move pilot right.
"RSHIFT + RCTRL + Num 4" move pilot left.
"RSHIFT + RCTRL + Num *" move pilot forward.
"RSHIFT + RCTRL + Num /" move pilot backward.
With track IR it is much better of course, but it is possible to play without it too, just need some practice.
The mouse in this game is better to use for switching switches and pushing buttons inside the cockpit, and of course it is better to bind the very important buttons to your joystick or H.O.T.A.S..
Also you can save your own view presets.

I am not sure if have I understood your post and the kind of help you are asking for, but I will tell you how I am doing. Maybe it will help you as well.
I have been in DCSW since August and have a HF module, the Mirage 2000C since about Halloween.
I have no experience with TrackIR or VR, but I am really thinking in getting the first or a similar device.
I am right now playing with two devices attached to my PC on the purpose of playing DCSW:
-A Logitech Extreme 3D Pro
-A Logitech Gamepad F310
I have one of the buttons of the gamepad binded to LeftAlt-C. So by pressing that button with my left hand I switch comfortably and fast from clicking to panning the view around the plane and below into the cockpit. With the right hand I hold the mouse to pan my view around or click any button. It works really well.
My gamepad is located on the table in front of the keyboard.
Since I have the Extreme 3D Pro I also need to use my left hand to control the throttle slider. During combat this is a requirement. Left hand on throttle and right hand on stick (not much different from Hotas users).
Anyway, this game would require three hands. Everyone, even with a VR or TrackIR device, would need these 3 hands to play comfortably. Most players with a Hotas, left hand is required for the throttle and right for the joystick plus the mouse. The keyboard is also required with either the left or the right hand.
If you are using a throttle with the left hand (HOTAS), you can bind one of the buttons to LAlt-C, instead of using a gamepad or other left controlled device.
With the settings I have, I am getting smooth (no stuttering) 40+ fps, so your performance is better. I do not experience any slowness while immersed into the cockpit. My fps seems to be the same in the hud or in the lower cockpit, but that might be different for other modules. You could try also to check and fine tune your mouse settings.
You are making a lot of unnecessary button pushes. There is no need to toggle between a mouse look and mouse cockpit clicks.
Just enter the controls option and press "Num 6" for example, you will see that this button is used to turn the head right. Just bind other button for this purpose. By default the top ministick of Extreme 3D pro is bound for moving the head but if you using it for other purposes, you can bind the buttons of your second controller for this purpose.
So you can use the buttons to control the head and use the mouse to click the buttons simultaneously, it is much easier then toggle the mouse purpose all the time. By doing this you can put aside the third hand and store it for a better times.
No. I only use one button push to toggle LAlt-C with the gamepad. Why not using the left hand while it´s idle?
I also use the POV hat in my Extreme to look around, when I am unable to take my mouse (third hand which I don´t store. I just don´t have it
The numeric numbers work as well, but the kind of panning I get this way is not enough. So the need for the mouse.
During combat, most of the time I can´t use the mouse. You are right there. I use the POV. Right hand on stick and left hand on the throttle (joystick slider). But if I am in need, I will use the mouse panning, which is much faster.
The mouse panning is the best replacement when you do not have TrackIR or a VR.
But I can´t use the POV views simultaneously with the mouse. Both controls are used with the same right hand.
I also use Right Ctrl-Shift and the numeric pad to move the camera sideways or up-down in the cockpit. And the LShift S to raise my seat when required for landing.
Really Sizigmund, what I described above is working well for me.
If it is working well for you then O.K.. I gave the advice because I've tried to play the same way and it was very inconvinient for me. I think everyone have it's own way to deal with the controls inconviniences in this game. Anyway if you playing without Track IR and H.O.T.A.S. you learning to do everything very quickly.
Maybe it is a mouse frequency issue or i just need a better gpu than my 1070 for 2k.
You can always try to reduce resolution. But first of all, try to disable the SSLR in graphical options. This option reduces frames significantly and I haven't noticed much difference when it turned off.
Yep, i think TrackIr is the way to go. Unfortunately it is hard to get those things in my country. I just wish DCS had a better user friendly experience like i have in il-2. The way FOv works inside cockpít is also kind of umconfortable.
You will need to tackle with settings a bit but tracking is a go for many games nowadays, not only DCS. On Flight Sims, ETS etc it gave me a perfect immersion and ease. Gamechanger.
However Rift S (VR) is crap on it's own, I preffer to use my 3D TV than VR due to bad resolution no matter the settings. I would advise to get a cheap and well done TrackIR equialent with PS3 Eye camera and fine tuning it for a while.
