I normally bind them to my HAT using a multiplier so I don't lose my HAT for other things.
A-10A has trim for Pitch, Roll and Rudder under Flight Control
A-10C and A-10C II has Yaw trim under Flight Control and the rest is on the stick.
F-86F has trim for Pitch, Roll and Rudder under Flight Control
You can also make changes in the Control Settings to individual axis for that aircraft, some people have found adding a small dead zone helps. Not sure if that would help in your case, worked fine for a person I suggested it too recently but their joystick wasn't centering at all, in or out of the game.
my problem is that I cant center the joystick axis in DCS axis settings. further more,
different aircraft show different variations of an un-centered joystick in the joystick axis settings. for example, F86 shows like im pushing the stick to the left, in the A10 it shows like im pushing the stick forward
is there a way to center my joystick for each aircraft in DCS joystick axis settings?
In Windows the joystick is perfectly centered. and it works perfectly with every other game.
In A-10C when you arm the PAC, stick is automatically pushed forward.
the sidewinder FF2 is perfectly calibrated in windows and it works perfectly well with all other sims i have.
also, I tried another stick i own (logitech extreme 3d pro) and that one sims to work normally.

It is tool to test DirectInput devices made by Logitech. This tools shows output in raw values.
you have to remove it
plug and calibrate in Windows directly
for microsoft joysticks there is the specific microsoft calibration in the original windows
then go to calibration in the DCS joystick keyboard settings, game launched, the big table with all the keys
see what it does, it must be centered for each plane otherwise there is a problem
i have two 16000 and the throttle slider same brand thrustmaster (i pilot everything like starcitizen) the Z axis is good for the trash, the rest is fine
i also have a microsoft sidewinder that still works well (and also a saitek)
i always do it like that
there may be something else plugged in that disrupts the joystick or mouse centering vice versa in games, i've already had that, try plugging in another mouse to see
That's why you should use the manufacturer calibration tool if possible because it saves calibration into joystick's firmware.
i'm talking about calibration for microsoft joysticks only
i never do it for other brands
for thrustmasters like 16000 i plug and center directly in DCS in the settings
never any problem.
adding "external" software like downloaded (even dvd) exposes the PC to potential viruses, something i haven't done for a long time since as i said i only have steam installed and no antivirus
for 20 years in steam (without ban) it's the best solution i found from experience to be quiet
is the goal to spend your life making adjustments or to have fun?
Also if you have a game controller ( that you se example to play fifa soccer ) then unplug it form the usb port while you use your joystick.
Sometimes these things can effect some joysticks.
