Uninstall and Reinstall DCS World Steam Edition
I need to uninstall "DCS World Steam Edition" from an internal SSD due to a corrupt update. I then need to reformat the SSD and reinstall DCS to it. I want to know if I'm going to lose anything in this process? The installation is inside the Steam Library for that allocated "H:" Drive. Does Steam remove any progress (saved games folder on C:) when I uninstall the game?

Will the uninstall process remove all the relevant DCS folders inside that H: Steam Library? I ask because the formatting process will delete everything. Just wondering if all my assets DLC stuff will all be saved in my Steam account somewhere so it can be reinstalled on the reformatted drive?

Hi,

uninstall should not touch the saved games DCS folder. It is a good idea to make a backup anyway, but you should be fine.

You DLC is safe as it is linked to your steam account and will be there when you install again

thank you

Thanks, I thought it would be ok I just don't like the thought of losing expensive stuff. I did back up the saved games and put in a safe place, so I should be golden.

you have to make a copy of the personal missions elsewhere if you have done any
(usb key or other hard drive)
then put them back in the missions of your personal file

i also do it for security for keyboard configurations (especially in standalone)
steam manages this very well
