DCS VR Horrible Performance
I just bought myself new VR Headset and every time I run DCS it gets max. 10 fps, screen is clipping and it's so pixalated I could count the pixels on screen. I have no idea why it's happening. I set pixel density to 2 even 2.5, didn't work. I lowered settings, didn't work.

My specs : Ryzen 9 5900x , RTX 3060 Ti, 32gb RAM

Hi do you have discord? if so join us so we can take a look at your dcs log

please note however we are working on some optimisations and fps tweaks at the moment, so you are not alone seeing a performance dip. Lower end systems have suffered the most, and we are working to improve fps.

thanks

My DCS Works perfectly normal without VR, avg. around 100 fps, and VR preview on my monitor isn't pixalated at all, it looks like that just in my headset. So I don't know really if it's DCS fault or my Headset/PC

VR is way more intensive than 2D you may find you need to dial you settings back a little while in VR to hit the desired fps target and balance looks and performance.

which headset do you have?

I have Pico 4 128 Gb, and while playing VR I go all settings Medium/Low and textures on low. Still maxing 10 fps. And when playing normally I go all settings high/ultra and got 100 fps

RTX 3060 Ti maybe a little under powered

but again, we are aware of some fps issues and working on improvement

Like I said I'm playing on lower resolution and settings, and my GPU ain't going past 60 Degrees, and if it was struggling, it should be at least at 100% usage, and it is at around 60-70, I'm as confused as you are.

I just noticed, that not just DCS, but every single thing from Steam VR Looks like game from 80's. Even the menu is barely readable. Pico Menu is clear and doesn't lag, but right after I enter Steam VR it's pixalated, 10 fps and I can barely see anything, so I think it's not DCS's problem. It's Steam VR's problem.

I made a post a few days ago talking about how good DCS was in VR. What your're experiencing is exactly what i was talking about in my post. Why is it some people have problems like this and others do not? It's mind boggling!!

It's not underpowered trust me. I have a 2080 super and it runs great in VR. It must be something this guy is doing and he doesn't realize he's doing it, if ya know what i mean.

for the majority of steams VR games its should run no problem but DCS is very demanding on hardware for VR ... im on a 4090 , 5800x3d and 64gb ram .. i still have to tweak the settings to find a balance between visuals and performance.

edit .. i should add though that something is certainly wrong you are correct , i have my pixel density set to 1 and its not heavily pixelated , his issue sounds more to be headset resolution settings.
