as we've had no replies I'll add that on the official forums the leap hasn't had great feedback for use in DCS.

I'm also really into it. The last barrier to immersion. There are only a few YouTube videos and explanations. More about the first version. I want to "stick" it to my Quest 3 with the mount (mounting kit). But for the price I would also like to have empirical information beforehand. Like so many things, it will probably be easy to test it or send it back....
But I've had the thing in my shopping cart for 2 weeks ;)

Thanks for replies guys. I was looking at the videos but alas there's not really a whole lot on the topic, I will see if I can find more info to share. Happy Flying Guys!
I think that a good rule of thumb is that if folk are not raving about it on the usual DCS channels then it's probably not that great for DCS use :(

I experimented with LeapMotion a year ago or more, I guess. There were technical problems around it back then (it didn't work for me in DCS unless I was doing VR through Steam, which I don't want to do) and I didn't quite like how it worked. I prefer to have physical devices that I can feel rather than seeing my hand, but obviously both would be preferable.

The more I wait before switching to VR, the more I think it is the right thing to do at times :steamhappy:

Yea, I guess I'll have to wait to see if its worth the effort, before purchasing.

Most of what I've read is that on its own it's rather flakey (imprecise and unreliable). Some people use it in conjunction with a pair of finger-ring mouse emulators.

yeah, that's the thread I saw.

the sluggizmo looks cool .

The finger tracking solution called PointCTRL (check their discord) is very nice and works seamlessly with HOTAS, since you don't have to pick anything up. That with a good setup makes VR shine for me.

You wear a unit on your finger that is tracked and has buttons on it to emulate click. You can have one on each hand and use whichever is more convenient at a given moment. Waiting times, though, are pretty harsh, as it is with any niche low production stuff like it. Worth it, IMO.

I haven't tried any other similar solitions as there really weren't any before.

Puh. I've been on his Discord, he's currently fulfilling orders from 2022. Lol. I guess I'll try Ultraleap and the Slugmouse setup.

Problem with that is Pimax no longer sell the Ultraleap module designed for their headset and I don't see a good way to attach the native unit to the headset.
