Dcs freezes when loading maps/missions

Do I've got that problem. It's the first time that I am playing the game and I get these problems. My pc specs: I5-2400, 1050-ti 3 GB, 16 GB Ram DDR3. I do not have page files set up

Hi, you need to set a min max pagefile of at least 32gb it should help

The page file is a overflow file for your RAM mapping space. There only needs to be one file. Please be mindful that sometimes other devices with onboard RAM are allowed to map into the system RAM space through DMA, meaning that those devices also need to be taken into account for page file size considerations.

Also consider:
DCS often just "seems" frozen while loading a mission.
If you click anywhere during loading, windows often thinks "game frozen" and asks you to close. If you just wait instead, it will load :)

Just one drive, usually the fastest and one with plenty of space. Never fill a drive up all the way.

i too have had a similar issue with the syria map halting at a init (96)

is it always the same mission? or does the map load with other missions?

You don't need to touch it. Just let Windows manage it. I have 64GB myself and never run into issues with DCS fully maxed out even on Syria.

Same 64GB RAM I leave pagefile on auto.

32GB RAM or below you should set a pagefile.

What fixed it for me was Updating the GPU drivers and making page file around 30 gb

what also helps. dont click on mouse srsly. it lets crash dcs many times too sometimes.
