DCS Afghanistan INCOMPATIABLE with STEAM?

Look devs I get it, you want full revenue no middleman cuts with this map pack.. But you guys gotta figure something out. It appears you're already trying to sell these maps for $69.99 once the sale is done, so why not just offer the $69.99 here and call it a day?

BTW $69.99 for the map of a country better be worth it. I want to see videos on how you guys digitally made that. Show us how painstaking the labor was and the dedication to a realistic model of the country and I'll buy it.

Great job on the trailer though. I don't even play DCS, but I'm considering it. If only that scene of the chinook could be crewed with actual Airborne infantrymen and could see the taliban taking shots at the heli with their ak-47's and dSHK's. It's too bad if I ever try to renact that scene that I will be flying an empty chinook.

All addons bought on ED page are not compatibile with the Steam version. You have to always buy them via steam store.

That's the TLDR summary of my complaint yes. They can hype up the game with a bad ass trailer all they want but I'm not going to be purchasing two sets of DLC's or making alt accounts just to play this content. Now if we could also play as infantry and get to ride around in these transport choppers, dropping into hot LZ's, and strafing ground targets with the .50 cal I might be convinced.

As usually in Steam store is not preorder because there is not possible to place preorder without release date in Steam. It is the Steam policy which ED must obey. For the same reason you can not preorder F-4 Phantom made by Heatblur in Steam.

You don't have to buy 2 sets of DLC. The South West map pack is just a cheaper option, it's a fraction of the full map.

We are discussing the possibility of pre-order with steam however they have strict conditions and at the moment it is not looking likely.

DCS: Afghanistan will be coming to steam for Early access planned in June 2024 however.

Maybe you've heard about it..

If ED doesn't want people on steam buying their stuff they might aswell remove it from steam altogether.

Show us how to add in steam preorders without release date.
Maybe it is not ED issue, but Steam issue.
Like when you choose in which store you will go shopping.
Every store sells same things, but different prices, different discounts, different benefits, different bonus programs,...

You're complaining about nothing and sound hella slow while doing it.
ED has done pre Orders before on steam but since Steam doesn't allow you to have a pre order without a release date ED put a date which came and went and lead to tons of people being confused and angry about it not coming out "on time".

Just calm down and wait for it to fully release on steam if you want it on steam.

btw "voting with your wallet" is not a real thing the market is not a democracy.
