VR Cursor suddenly black in color.

Does anyone know a fix to this? Yesterday, the VR Mouse Cursor was green and today, with no settings having being changed, the VR Mouse Cursor is all of the sudden black.

The cursor is green in desktop mode. . . so it's only in VR the mouse cursor is a black cross-hair.

Same thing for me. It makes for clicking things in the cockpit extremely difficult to keep chasing the black mouse around... Thought I screwed something up bad. I Reinstalled DCS, META, AMD drivers, still didn't fix it.

I'm starting to think its a DCS thing and not an end user problem.

Edit: Found a possible fix.

Through a pile of digging. Apparently DCS-Single Threaded mode is black cursor in VR. but the DCS-MultiThread build is yellow.

For us steam users, that means: on the desktop shortcut for DCS, change properties. Set the location to "steam://launch/223750/option1".

This forces it to run Multithreaded version & voila, yellow mouse. Hope this works for you.

I also did the same thing; reinstalled DCS and all DLCs, Meta, and NVIDIA drivers still no joy. If it is a DCS things I sure hope they realize it and create a hotfix. The most frustrating part about it all is yesterday everything was as it should be. The next thing I know, with no settings changed the mouse cursor went to black. As you said, it's extremely difficult to keep chasing the black mouse around an already dark cockpit much less an operation at night.

Please post something if you find a fix/ workaround!

Thank you for your post! I tried your suggestion but still no joy. . . . It seems there are a lot people experiencing issues with ST and MT versions. If I play the OpenBeta MT VR Steam version it's a yellow cross-hair but if I play in the ST version then it's a black cross-hair even after seting the location to "steam://launch/223750/option1" as you suggested.

Another issue I had is I use a Xbox Series X controller as my HOTAS so the back/select button in the MT version was opening the STEAM VR Menu. I ended up having to disable the function of back/select button on the XBOX Series X controller in the VR Game Profile Menu and now at least I can fly in MT with a yellow cross-hair.

This is very frustrating and strange issue because one day, things are working great, then then next I spent hours trying to figure out how to remedy the problem.

Frustrating indeed, when such a minor thing can literally be the difference of enjoying what could be a great evening/weekend of sim. At least you have another workaround to get there though!

I'm a Steam user. In the library list, right click on DCS and go to Properties. In the General tab Launch Options, select MT VR mode or Ask each time. Not sure that this selection is persisitent but seems to be.

I had similar problem. Kept getting double cursor when launching from DCS.exe shortcut. Had to launch from Steam shortcut to get into VR MT mode.

Solve the black cursor problem now. If you fly at night you have to go with a flashlight. Please can't play like this

G'day, Yes, I too am experiencing this black, cruciform, cursor when playing the non-multi-threading VR launch of DCS. I'd be glad to switch to MT but I can't smooth out the radar sweep vertical line and the judder can't be eliminated with smoothing. At least I can't find the right combination. Thanks for looking into the cursor color as it makes it really, really, hard to operate.
