and then force trim will work
I'm using the X-56 too, the twist for antitorque is pure crap, so I have the pedals mapped to one of the throttle wheel axis... at first it is no so usable as the cyclic twist, but once used to it it is pretty usable, you can takeoff hover and land easily trimming it, you almost do it mechanically adjusting power and twisting with the same hand.
Try it, MAP THE Z AXIS OF THROTTLE to the antitorque pedals.
Sadly I've found "budget" pedals to be more an annoyance than help.
Yes it's better than a twist grip. But only by a little.
I'd consider saving up for either Winwing or MFG pedals.
They are perfect for warbirds, modern and helicopters. But then you'll end up with pedals that cost more than your x56.
Rudder pedals will feel like a whole new game. Majorly for choppers, but even fixed wing flight will feel much better.
Read some reviews about the choices. I started with cheap plastic pedals that were a game changer, but had annoying 'stiction' effect, making small movements difficult. Ended up with VKB pedals that fix under normal desk and don't interfere when not in use, but lack physical toe brakes, for those that care deeply. Love them and recommend them for accuracy as well as comfort and value.
