DCS refusing to launch

so, I managed to play DCS normally in June 2023. Reinstalling it today, and it just abruptly closes after pressing "play". I tried installing Visual Studio C++, rebooting the PC, reinstalling the game multiple times, yet it doesn't want to work. Does anyone have a solution to fix this?

SOLUTION:

- new Oculus update screwed up DCS in VR
- Launch in SteamVR mode. It takes a few attempts, but it should launch

- not launching without VR:
- disable antivirus/add Steam\Steamapps\common\DCSworld to a exception list

Just to add, I have a rather beefy PC (I7-12700K/RTX-4070 64GB RAM), so it shouldn't be a problem to load it.

having the same problem since march 5, 2024. re-installed, hit paly , comes to the 15 yrs of DCS splash Screen, then nothing.

Add DCS:W instalation folder into antivirus exception list. Run file integrity check, try again.
Make sure all your system drivers are updated. Latest Nvidia driver version is 551.76
Always install game onto SSD drive.

Have same issue, game keeps returning to start menu after a few minutes, Ran integrity check, passed okay. updated drivers. Still same issue

so, after updating drivers, reinstalling the game and ensuring that the game was on the Antivirus exception list, the game still refuses to launch.

No idea. If you have W10 or W11 there should be no issue. DCS is not compatibile with W7. You need at least W8.1

Same issues since this morning, game refuses to launch and i'm running Windows 11, so it's not the Windows version. I even went so far and reinstalled DCS and it still won't launch. I also made a post on ED forums about it

i know what it is, the people with issues are VR / Quest users..... meta released a new update which broke VR for DCS

If it is a meta quest v63 issue it is known, and work around has been posted but it means not using openXR and only using native oculus drivers without link

Im having issues with Quest3 and both MT VR previews. The normal MT preview works flawless and al other 3 games modes (normal, normaSteamVR and normal OculusVR) also works. I´m bit frustrated of now being able to apply DLSS wiith VR...

the same here, files integrity is ok. I use the open beta version. I'm going to try the regular version. Never had that issue before.

Having the same issue even without VR. I was just playing last night with no issues and now i cant even launch the game.
