Replay tracks since wip fix was released
Heyo,

First time testing the replay tracks after DCS Stable 2.9.1.48335 was released with a wip fix.

On my first attempt I can say that I was tracked properly from start to finish using the Spitfire with the included scramble mission to intercept Ju-88s bombing England. This was an improvement however there still seems to be an issue with the AI not tracking with the player now.

My flight ended with a smooth belly landing just outside of a city near a road and replaying the track resulted in the same smooth landing at exactly the same place. However, what had caused my belly landing was damage sustained to my engine after one last engagement with 2 Ju-88s in formation which did not happen on the replay track. I was shooting into the sky as the ai bombers were were not there and obviously did not receive fatal engine damage. My engine overheated in my flight but on the replay the engine temp was at 80 and no bullet holes in my wings and fuselage. Normally a replay desync would finish with the player craft crashing into the ground unexpectedly where one had not happened. In this case it was an improvement. I was even impressed to see that one tree line attack on a Ju-88 trying to escape was properly recorded (both player and ai) as it happened while flying.

What has been your experience? Better? Worse? Same as before?

Track replays are still broken even for simple 1v1 dogfights.

Replays are not broken if you use them properly. Mind it was used mainly for reporting bugs and issues. It is more like resimulation than replay. Keep your FPS high and it should work properly. For real time have 60 fps. For fast forward have double ammount of FPS.

well what ED did to increase the times that the player input is recorded seems to have worked for the player but issues are still present

To get more or less correct tracks use dedicated server to run your missions. Sure you need an extra 200gb of space but the tracks will be 90% correct even for long missions.
A 40 minute mission.
Ran through the track many times(8) to get all the angles.
The only part that didn't work right was a rocket attack by one of my Wingmen at the very end.
