A10C II Take off
OK I am running the Beta version 2.9 I have my game mode set to Simulation and when in (Instant action - Takeoff) or (Training Take off) I cannot get the aircraft to lift off. It just gets to super speed and runs off the end of the runway. I have tried it out on all my available runways with extra long ones in Dubai.
I have never had this happen with this particular aircraft before.
I have tried it in free flight and Pitch and Roll are all good.

I have tried other aircraft the FA 18 and the Spitfire and they are all OK at takeoff.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Allan.

A possible thing might be to clear everything you have axis on, including VR controllers, and then rebind them. I have had instances since 2.9 of controllers being bound to axis without them actually appearing in the bindings menu and causing intermittent control errors.

Also have you restarted since you turned game flight mode off? In 2.9, at least for me, it will occasionally glitch and act as if it is on even with the box unticked when I start the game up again, requiring me to enable and then re-disable it to get aircraft to function correctly. You might possibly be having this issue.

Though ultimately you'd be better off posting on eagle dynamics own forums and uploading a track file of an attempted takeoff, the guys there can go through it frame by frame to see if any control oddities are happening.
Did you do a complete cold start or hot start ?
Is your stick in the cockpit actually moving when you move yours ?
Are the control surfaces of the plane moving (rudder, ailerons, elevators) ?

Make sure the Force feedback in misc options is unchecked. Make sure there are no double bindings. Make sure the game flight mode is unchecked Make sure you have set Take off trim.

I've tried both missions and it is all without issues. Check all things mentioned above. Note: The aircraft in those missions is quite heavy. You have to pull a lot.

To me the tests I'd do would be
- Try with a mission where you already are flying (can you go up?)
IF not... Check key/axis binding
IF it's OK
- Try with a hot start directly from the runway with minimal weight (at least no missiles/bomb/rockets equiped)
IF not working: Check throttle axis (is it really 100%)
IF working: I guess you forgot something on cold start

Should make it easier to troubleshoot after that

Edit: I didnt read everything...
Free flight is ok, so axis are supposedly OK

My guess would be either overloaded (100% Fuel + wax heavy full weapons ... espeially if you forget flaps)
Or an accelaration issue (throttle axis)

What is you max speed when attempting to take off?
What about your payload?

According to manual the rotation is performed around 135kts with half flaps. From my experience you need to pull quite hard.

Also tried the take-off instant action mission with A-10C-2 and had no problem. A track would be needed.
First up a huge thanks everyone for the advice it really is appreciated, I'll start to work through them.
I did do the INSTANT ACTION - LANDING mission and landed OK. I then went around to the tack off point on the ground and the aircraft took off with no problem.

I might add I had the same issue doing the Training Take off with the guy telling me exactly what to do. Needed to do it as I've been away from DCS for a long time and forgotten more than I ever knew.

Jel, Yes it was a hot start the mission is from the INSTANT ACTION and that is how it starts.
Yes the joystick, thrust pedals and all other instruments are working OK.

Grey Face, Yes to everything you suggested. I have doubled up again to be sure.

Grüntherspöth, I did all you suggested, the actual speed looked to be the same as showing in the YouTube video posted above by Troll Norris.

Troll Norris, Thank you for showing that. I will take note on my next attempt.

Xupicor, thanks for the input at least it shows it's not a bug and it is something my end.
If you use the brake pedals, make sure they don't work the opposite way. If they do, in the axis tune menu select "invert" option.
Well I just tried out on a mission that required a start up from runway and was able to take off with no problem. I then tried the INSTANT ACTION - TAKEOFF mission and just ran off the end of the runway. My speed was well over the 135 Kts.
The brake pedals are working OK they hold the aircraft with the engine revving at high.
The Force feedback in misc options was checked so I unchecked it. :)

I don´t think the brakes are the problem since the bird reportedly gets to "super speed" :)

I think it´s time you provide a video or a track file for us to analyze.

In gameplay options menu check the window in bottom right corner "ignore mission settings - use mine" or something like that.
Slow repair is always a good idea after big updates. Fixed some silly stuff for me more than once. Don't know why, but it seems like sometimes updating just doesn't do the job as you'd expect it to, so maybe that's something you could do when doing chores or something.

Also, maybe click game mode and click again to uncheck it. Just something someone recently did to fix their issues. (Game mode off doesn't always stick, looks like?)

Please post a track when it happens again.
