DLAA without DLSS
If your system can handle it then would it be best to run DLAA only? Without an upscaler like DLSS selected? In 1440p I can do 130-144fps with just DLAA on an RTX 4080. Would this be the ideal setting or should I still force DLSS to do the upscaling?

IMO it is the best to avoid both. The DLAA and DLSS in my opinion are not as good as native resolution, MSAA or SSAA.

Fair point, I never even thought to use the others, and don't seem to need the performance boost of DLSS. So which AA method are you using? TAA or SMAA? Or are you forcing something else?

DLSS and TAA are blury for me. I do use still 1080p monitor so maybe it is because of it. I am noticing some flickering at the end of buttons and switches with MSAA. DLAA looks almost same sharp as MSAA without this flickering , so i am happy whit DLAA for now.

TAA is terrible. It is not good for fast moving objects. I don't use it in any game because it causes ghosting.

This method makes TAA achieve a result comparable to supersampling, the technique inevitably causes ghosting and blurriness to the image.

So what do you suggest? You just don't use any anti aliasing at all in DCS? I can't imagine that's the best solution for picture quality?

I use MSAA x4
Also I have set FPS limit to 60

Depends on your resolution.
I found with my Pimax Crystal that has a huge resolution i don't need any of it.
However when i watch tracks in replay on my 1440p monitor I need to add some anti aliasing

Could you define "some anti aliasing"? Are you using TAA? MSAA?

Try it all out and pick whatever your feel best with. 4xMSAA will probably look the best, but it's also heavy on performance. With 4080 on a flat screen you can probably spare some frames for quality and still have more than enough.

I would only use DLSS if you really need that performance bump and can live with the smudgy artefacts from time to time.
