Why Gazelle ?
At first place why was this heli even use as attack helicopter IRL? The loadout options are just ridiculous.
At second place why the devs chose this heli to bring in to DCS? In a game the payload is even more ridiculous and useless as it is IRL?
At third place why i did buy this heli , before some more investigation?

Ask the polychop, which is the developer. First of all, you need weapons operator. Control and shoot at the same time is always difficult. From my experience, it is very easy to control this one. But probably because it behaves very different way than any other helicopter in DCS:W. It feels like I control the pitch/roll angular velocity than cyclic pitch/roll.

Unlike DCS, in real life you're not tasked with destroying a whole battalion of tanks.
The Gazelle is a small fast helicopter with the ability to take out several tanks.
With 20mm cannon it's a very good scout helicopter that can punch hard.
It can be used as a small medivac helicopter.
French special forces use it all the time.

I felt the same before I actually started to fly it after the FM update. Since then, it's become a fast favorite of mine. Fast, low profile, and as stated by Gunfreak, it can pack a punch.

The objective with the Gazelle isn't to take out massive targets, with x4 HOT3's, you can move in, shoot some important objectives and GTFO.

The gazelle has the best gameplay of all of the helicopters. Fast and nimble it can handle any task albeit at limited compacity.

Ever go Sam hunting in a Lima version? Exillerating!!!

Most of the time I use the gaz I am taking on several roles. I'll move into position and drop some jtac off. Then I will start to scout ahead and look for some targets. After eliminating my targets I then proceed to rtb but not before I pick up that CSAR pilot that went down close to my location.

All in all you can do so much with the gaz in one sortie. Very easy to spend 1-2 hrs getting things done and moving on.

If you're a single player you can simply enable unlimited weapons and just have a blast. I always run MP and find it to be the most versatile helicopter in the game.

Gameplay with 4 HOT3 guided missile and nothing else is quite boring for me, so for now i experiment with splash demage script to make unguided rockets more effective. So with unguided rockets and machine gun pod, with unlimited ammo i will be probably able do some fun mission for myself.

You can take out a really good amount of enemies with the Lima. Plus the gameplay is much better with the Lima.

I love using those hot 3s but it's just different style.

The Gazelle is apparently getting Ai gunners making missiles easier to use and with AI gunner on the minigun the Gazelle becomes a mini Huey.

I saw some youtube video where a guy use machine gun on M version with a TV. I can use on M version only HOT3 missile. Was this change in last big update?

One version have been canceled. Because it was almost the same like different available version.

For HOT3 missile unlimited ammo option don't work for some reason.
Weapon expansion mod is outdated and probably will be never update anymore, what is a shame, because it look really promise. I probably should have bought a gazelle for MSFS rather than DCS.

@bingbean

You clearly haven't flown the gazelle with the gurus in Blueflag modern.

These things are so ridiculously useful that can actually carry the team on their backs and make the rival team really mad... a real nightmare to deal with.

You have a fast and nimble helo equipped with RWR, this, combined with its small size (and questionable implementation), makes the gazelle virtually missile proof.
This thing can go from full speed to a hover on a dime, if you know what you're doing, no radar guided missile will hit you (be it active or semi-active).

As for IR missiles, you have flares and a low heat signature, so a good chance of defeating them if you're alert.

As for AAA, it can really mess you up if you're careless, but if you use buildings and terrain for masking (nap-of-the-earth flying is easy to do in the gazelle), you can actually beat it with missiles in a pop up attack... or guided rockets, which should outrange AAA.

As for radio guided missiles (tunguska style), these are best avoided since you'll get no warning and flares are useless against them. Your best defense against these is terrain masking.

The gazelle can single-handedly obliterate an armor group, believe it or not.
The gazelle can single-handedly obliterate SAM sites, believe it or not.
The gazelle can score more aircraft victories than most fighter players, believe it or not.

If you knew the thousands of players who have been bested by gazelles in Blueflag, you wouldn't call them "useless".

These things can be equipped with minigun, autocannon, guided rockets, and fox 2s... this, combined with RWR, low signature and ridiculous agility, make gazelles deadly, for both ground targets and aircraft.

In Blueflag they can also carry troops and equipment to build SAM sites, forward bases, deploy vehicles, repair bases, etc.
They are one of the best assets of red team (in PG modern).

It's not an attack chopper, it is a scout chopper that can also fit weapons if desired for low intensity stuff like shooting up opposing scout teams. Similar to the Kiowa in US service.

I am curious, why would you not only use something you know has a broken flight model but outright abuse that broken flight model, as you describe. In and of itself this seems questionable, but it is even more questionable considering the "sim" nature of DCS.
