F35 mod
So I put this in aircraft mod folder and a box popped up saying will not work failed. So I'm assuming the update version is broken after the latest dcs updates?

this is user folder. %USERPROFILE% is C:\users\[your name] by default
root folder is DCS install folder
Make sure you !delete! the your mods under DCS install folder. if those mods still exist, they will keep popping up.

BTW many user-shared mods may use flame cliff 3 to provide basic functions. and flame cliff is paid DLCs. so.. if you don't own such module. Some message will popup too.

YOU DIDNT even mention what message about those pop-ups. so we never know if you install the wrong folder or you lacking the dependence

https://store.steampowered.com/app/249320/DCS_Flaming_Cliffs_3/

or skip to standalone mods like A-4, T-45 etc.. those are standalone mods, no need FC3

If you played DCS then it automatically created that folder because that's where DCS stores settings, keybinds and such. If you want to share screen on Discord or something like that, feel free to DM me.

DCS installation folder is meant to be read only. You should never modify the installation folder. For all user data - mods included is the user profile folder.

If you install at the correct folder. and still got message

VSN made F-35 is made out from F-15. you need F-15/FC3 installed to fly this mods.
I check the VSN mods: Sensors = { RADAR = "AN/APG-63",--F15 RWR = "Abstract RWR"--F15 },
Other people may also made different F-35 mods. and what dependence they need you need ask the creator. we assume you owned them all.

With a few exceptions. One being Quaggle's input injector mod which should, frankly, just be part of DCS basic functionality, IMO; https://github.com/Quaggles/dcs-input-command-injector

Point is: "never" is a big word. ;)

Root folder wont accept custom "modules". ( registered as "module" requires "declare_plugin() and entry.lua )
The "scripts" mostly are protected by IC with few exceptions( like mission editor and UIs). however it is still HIGHLY recommended only install scripts at user folders, via export.lua or hooks if such option is possible.
DCS regular updates may break those root folder mods and crashes, and will require repair each time.

Isn't there a different file other than vnc I can download it's just not working

I haven't tested yet. But newest dcs updates changed it's file and script and have broke lots of mods.
Vsn team also lost their file host server recently. At moment ,we have to wait mod creators fix theirs mod.
