The best is to buy the aircraft which you are the most interested in.

All jets can be flown by noobies, so pick whichever one appeals to you.

What kinds of missions do you prefer? Some jets are better than others at air to ground or air to air. If you really have no idea, then I'd recommend the Hornet or Viper. They're both multi-role so they can do almost everything. They're a bit more complicated simply because they can do so much, but learning one thing at a time will have you dropping bombs and shooting missiles in no time.

The AV-8B Night Attack is also ground attack capable. I have it, and I love it.

The A-10C isn't tough to learn. It has one of the best manuals in the game, and it's been around long enough that there are plenty of online tutorials if you prefer to learn that way. I haven't tried the in-game tutorials recently, but they used to be good. You'll learn the basics which will get you up in the air and bombing stuff.

The other plus to the A-10C is that there are plenty of missions and campaigns if you play SP.

The Harrier is good, too. Fewer weapons, but faster. And landing it is fun.

Pick whichever you like the most and don't worry about how tough it is. There's nothing worse than learning one plane when you wish you learning another.

Last I checked there was an open google document with ~3000 current bugs on the AV-8B, some of which have been reported and acknowledged for up to something like 5000 days.

It is actually a decent module in flying condition?

Syria is a wonderful map(overall best map in DCS still)
It's a natural home for the Apache.

It also has some nice cities to do A10 fun with too.

Western Syria has some really beautiful green hills.

I'm sure your wallet will hate you for it, but that's just something we all had to accept at some point. ; )

The Harrier is already an honorary helicopter, kinda, and a fun jet to fly and bomb stuff in. A-10 is slower but can load up an absolute crapton of explosive toys and also features a set of complex and well developed systems. F-15 is worth mentioning here - even though it's early in its development it can also take quite a bit of boomboom under the wings - but unline A-10 it can go high and fast with it. Also the ground radar is already pretty great.

The Apache is going to get FCR soon, and between that, the datalink stuff and the navigation system, it's pretty complex as well as very dangerous for its enemies. Also pushes the PC quite hard, the cockpit is beautiful, but not lightweight. But if you can handle that, then really can't go wrong with it.

you are really selling me on the a10 or the f15. i can be stable around 100 fps when playing offline so buying the apache and syria will probably not go well for my pc. i am new to full fidelity planes and i have looked at alot of a10 gameplay and it looks pretty fun to be high in the sky and use the computer to destroy ground targets. and i dont really like being super fast and dogfighting. but if the F4 Phantom comes out with napalm i will buy it :)

Napalm is up to ED not heatblur.
"Napalm" has been promised for the F18 since it came out. And until ED adds it to the Hornet, no other modual will have it either.

The F15 can deliver a huge amount of fancy bombs.

And the A10 is very fun.

You might want to rethink the Apache - it's designed for two seats and personally I don't feel like the AI is doing a decent job when you're flying single. I got too frustrated and am looking for a single seat fighter at the moment.
