Anyone have a Trackhat Sensor V2?
I have the Trackhat Clip (wired) and have been using it, no issues, for about 5 years now, but I really like the idea of having no cables at all, and not having to wear my headset. There are a couple (positive) reviews online, but that's about it. Before you chime in, no, I don't want another flimsy, ridiculously expensive TrackIR (been there, done that), and I have no interest in VR.

What I see in this video, is quite big latency. But it can also be issued by unsynced videos.

The Delanclip still needs me to be wearing headphones, which I don't want to have to do. I just want to be able to sit down, and I'm on, like the Tobii (but for less than half the cost). There is free international shipping on now too, which really changes the cost.

I'm looking at this guy's review (which is pretty old now): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNRdI04Cmoc

Also, this online review (that is from late August): https://www.key.aero/article/trackhat-sensor-v2-review#:~:text=The%20benefit%20is%20the%20freedom,%2C%20there%20aren%27t%20any.

To quote him:

"This is a brilliant product that I feel once used will always be used. Admittedly it may take a little time to get it setup, however, the company is there to help with advice where it can. Each system and simulator is different, so there are no shortcuts to getting it dialled in.

I wholeheartedly recommend the TrackHat Sensor V2. If you buy it and spend the time to calibrate it properly, I’m sure you won’t be sorry."

Apparently recent patches have eliminated the latency issue, but it would be nice to get an opinion from a current user.

I've seen a few more videos and asked the creators about the current state of it, and they are all impressed by it, so I'll just get one and report my own findings. For less than 1/2 what TrackIR costs, I'll take the 'risk'.

Did you end up picking it up? If so, do you have any comments you would be willing to share?

I never did. I got a Quest 3 instead and just kept my Trackhat clip. Why? Wanted to try VR for one, but I also don't like the Trackhat guy's penchant for zero communication...its like he doesnt actually exist. Also, a few YouTube guys have been having issues with it after a few months. I think it's mainly due to the tech as face tracking just doesn't track as well. I'd probably just get a Delanclip if I had to buy today. Seems to be quality, and the guy is active on forums and YT comment sections.

I use this. Hasn't given me any problems and works even in the dark. Probably because I have a high res Logitech webcam.

This solutions usually have big latency. Using things like FreeTrack, TrackIR, e.t.c. have very low latency around 8 milliseconds. Also high accurancy. There is no need to dampen the output to make it less shaky.
