I have a 49" 5120x1440 monitor and a 32" 2560x1440 monitor and use TrackIR in a number of games. I've done nothing to set it up however I know you can.
T1600 is operational so it's not my prioriy now however I would like something which allows for longer axis (if that make sense).
I'm not sure if I suck at setting up deadzones and curves but it's seems to be overly sensitive which is deadly in helicopter.
Well yeah, youre giving bad advice if you just assume everyone has screens like that lol. IIRC for most games and computer work, 27 inch in 16:9 is the optimal size to minimize eye movement.
So with TrackIR you gotta set it up exactly for your screen size and distance, to make sure youre not turning your head too far away from the screens center.
I am afraid there is not much options. Maybe there exist extensions for Saitek sticks.
But VKB and Virpil are made for that.
There isnt really much good choice when it comes to sticks, thats why I mentioned the VKB as an alternative. There is logitech sticks like G56, but they are just the same or worse as T16000 when it comes to feel and precision. Also Warthog, but its more expensive and only somewhat better, and breaks easily.
I also had a T16, the only meaningful upgrade was a VKB Gladiator Space Premium, which is 200 bucks. Above that is basically just Virpil with ~450 bucks for one stick, but thats mostly better production quality and apparently feels very similarly good.
Now, I do love my VKB Gladiator, its a massive upgrade from a T16. Got like 24 buttons, seperate springs and clutches for movement, and it feels amazing. So much more precise than a T16 in every way, its a big step up. You can also bind almost the entire HOTAS setup of an F18 on that stick, you dont even necessarily need a throttle with buttons.
For 200 bucks its actually a good offer. But then again, its also a lot of money to invest into a flight stick. If youre not long term into flight sims, that might not be worth it to you.
I know of the Velocity One, it does look neat. But is it actually more precise than a T16? If its got the same "central spring" style setup without clutches, then it wont help much keeping helis stable.
edit: I just checked, it apparently has a hard center and sticky springs. Thats a shame, means it got cool gimmicks, but itll control just as unprecise as the T16. Maybe worse, because at least the T16 has a light spring. T16+TWCS would be cheaper and better probably.

Thanks! Sadly, that sounds like the flight stick itself is pretty bad, probably worse than a T16? If OP wants more controls, he can add a TWCS throttle and get so much more out of his setup.
Heck, this stick isnt even that much cheaper than a VKB Glad.
Its a real shame because on paper the VO Stick looked pretty nifty. But thats apparently all superficial.
This is literally exactly what I said. If you have a $20 logitech jotstick and mouse and keyboard you will get absolutely obliterated by someone with the exact same setup +track IR. Like I said you can play DCS with just this setup, like I do. But in pvp you will be at a supreme disadvantage to many ppl who play this game.
