I am not sure if you need those flight controls to play this properly, Yet just not nice to play on a keyboard.
ED move on thing fast most times they left those little things behide. it not supposed to crash. If it crash again, new engine just rolled out im not surprised if ti's true. I believe videos and lots PDF guide and use create content can do better jobs at this stage.
joystick is preferable. game-pad is acceptable.
Key and mice are challenging, require a strong will and mind to overcome.
but since its a propeller airplane repurposed. it's kinda hard to begin flying due to P-factor https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P-factor
if you want to give it a try
Hi
there is a large learning curve with DCS as it is a simulator, it can seem pretty daunting so take your time. We have tutorials and also youtube tutorials for the modules.
Manuals can also be found in your game files
DCS World\Doc
Or module specific
DCS World\Mods\aircraft\AH-64D\Doc
Download Manuals Here:
https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/
you can also join our discord and get help when you are stuck, and also find groups to learn and fly with

hope that helps
