Help please :( - Cant free look in cockpit.

Hi all, I dont have face tracking capability.

I just want to be able to free look around. For some reason whenever i spawn in in my f18, im looking behind my aircraft in the sky, even after game restarts. All the numpad keybinds to change view kind of work but arent consistent. In other aircraft I have been able to just control c to change from clickable cockpit to freelook. When i try it here, It goes from a clickable cockpit to basically doing nothing. I literally cant do anything rightnow, all my viewing options just feel ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I dont get why. Even aftewr resetting all controls, loading different presets etc, I spawn in my aircraft and my head is positioned all the way far left and down. Something is screwed. After reading heaps of articles, saw a couple people say the game thought they were trying to head track and to therefore to disable it. However i wouldnt know how to, i dont have any binds assigned to head tracking in game as it is.

with literally nothing bound, only a joystick and throttle, mouse and keyboard. I literally will spawn in or respawn and me so of centred within my aircraft, does anyone know why?

You can save presets for custom views. Maybe thats what you have done.
To discard your customisations and return to the factory default snap views (and "default" view), you need to delete the SnapViews.lua file from the config\view folder (File is on local folder named >Saved Games>DCS>CONFIG>View).

Happens when you play around with the freelook options on numpad and you accidently hit the save position key combo.
Had the same issue some weeks ago and succesfully did the above mentioned procedure.

I knew the snapview.
But the title "Cant free look in cockpit." then the part mention, ALT+C "It goes from a clickable cockpit to basically doing nothing" part
and "cant do anything rightnow" confuse me. what you can/cant do?

Can you still "look around"?
Can you still move your cockpit camera back forth up down left and right?
those all are numpad functions as well.

however if your center snapview was messed up clip into polygons. Indeed cant click ♥♥♥♥. if that what op mean "cant do anything rightnow"
but you still can do pan, move etc.. free look

if it just a snapview issue.
Either you delete your snapview.lua to reset, or manually move your cam back to center and saved as num5 views will do the trick


rctrl+rshift+numpad2,4,6,8 for up, down, left nd right and
rctrl+rshift+numpad / or * for forward and backward
RAlt+numpad0 then press numpadX save cockpit angles to a numpadX snapview

custom snapview saved at C:\Users\user\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View
delete will reset
