For the rest, I'd say to check your keybindings and see if it works during a mission where you start in the air.
But def make sure you push the yellow wing lever all the way forward and then push it in with "right click" I believe. After that close the cover. Then you have to press the master reset button next to the wing lever and try if the wing sweep works in manual and automatic mode.
Also a good reminder always check that your flaps are up otherwise you can't sweep your wings back in.
You have to check your bindings for brakes and other functions. Be aware, that DCS tends to set your brake axis inverted by default, meaning in almost every module you will have to change that setting.
