This issue is called "speed of sound" :) Perfectly normal.
They were dogfighting another aircraft burning a ton of energy. If they were above Mach 1 there is no way it was for the amount of time I was spectating them.
I use voiceattack, but I checked and double checked that there was nothing in VA or control settings that confiicts with the UHF volume up/down setting.
It was happening a lot months and months ago, then stopped, and over this past weekend it was doing it again.
So maybe check your UHF volume and make sure it hasn't turned all the way down on its own.
