it is possible to program the axis switch between stick axis to mouse control. but you need do your own research.
sensitivity there are two ways to do it. in game you can go to "axis tune", by adjust "saturation" or "curve".
2. in TM software and script engine you can adjust axis curve at driver level
i've tried all settings in game by adjusting saturation and curve but noting changes sensitivity
what are the optimal settings for curve and saturation to reduce how sensitive it is?
if you mean use axis for "freelook" , because axis free look is "absolute", not "Relative"(https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/desktop/ee418779(v=vs.85))
It means that axis value is mapping to a "position" not "speed". So adjust curvel only make it "non-linear" not slower.
I would suggest if you have no plan invest any sort of head tracking. use TM software convert mini-stick to mouse. then you can adjust the speed of "mouse" movement in TM software.
How do you do that using the Thrustmaster software ?
You either find a way convert raw input to "relative" axis output, or just turn it into mouse cursor mode, then adjust the axis curve or range to a speed you feel comfortable. Which both were doable by use scripting software.
just download T.A.R.G.E.T software and RTFM.

As i said im not sure what Logitech did. But in TM relative mode, it wont centering back by itself. unless you use the scripting software create your own functions.
When you into the virtual joystick programming and macro, everything is possible, everything is programmable but you need do your own research and learn those stuff.
And there is another way do allow cursor and looking around in same time.(mouse)
