With my mirage i can't follow the mig-29 !!!

Hello, in dogfight with mig-29 i can't follow him because he reaches altitude very quicly !!!
My mirage 2000 is not able to follow him. My mirage has low power engine !!!
What is your opinions ? I think we need to be gentle with my mirage 2000 but is it sufficient for hunting migs-29 ? The proble is my mirage 2000 doesn't like to be stressed !!!

Mig-29 is meant to be interceptor or Air superiority fighter. It is intended to fight for air supremacy in the area of the front.

Mirage 2000C is multirole fighter. Something like "Jack of all trades, master of none"

The main difference is in weapons and avionics. In real fight you probably will not go into dogfight. You will rather go in BVR. In BVR the Mirage have better performance because its weapons and avionics are better.

One more note. T/W ratio is not everything. It mainly says how much the aircraft will accelerate or climb. But M-2000C have maximum speed very similar to Mig-29 ( Mig-29 around Mach 2.3, M-2000C around M2.2 ). The main reason will be in the big difference of airframes. I just tried to inverse the roles. I used a mig-29 versus F-18. F-18 killed me but i killed him too. I tried with immortal.

The pilot skill is the most important thing. The most modern aircraft is useless when the pilot uses it wrong. By general you need to know your advantages and disadvantages. You want to force opponent to go fight your way and avoid his way of fight. For example in this video you can clearly see the Hornet is very good in high AoA fight over the mirage.

Depends on settings. There was recently AI update for OB. Since that update the AI is much more better in dogfight.
