Disappointing....I guess I will have to wait until I am able to afford a good PC
1.6 GHz would be very unsufficient for DCS since it heavily depends on CPU power. To add insult to injury the PS4 GPU is basically a modified Radeon HD 7870. All in all a PS4 is like a very low-end gaming PC.
This is not really aimed "blow stuff up" kind of thing: in this kind of simulation it is expected you put in the hours to learn the aircraft, weapons and use them appropriately.
You can start with gamepad and keyboard commands to get a feel for this but you really should consider proper stick and throttle if you are serious about flying high-fidelity simulators.
♥♥♥♥ man, it's barely there for PC :/ I wish it was bigger.
Once you get the hang of it then it becomes an amazing experience.
The thing is, these aircraft are complex and systems are simulated to more detail than various X-Plane aircraft are. X-Plane aircraft (those with higher quality anyway) usually have flight dynamics there but not the weapons systems and so on.
Most modules have various missions in addition to campaign and there's instant action missions too, it is not like there isn't choice about them if willing to look for them.
On this level of simulation, user is expected to look at manuals and have interest in learning: there is no way to "spoon-feed" all this information.
I can compare it quite easily, why can't I compare something that we have seen and know its function?
