logitech extreme 3d joy stick configure
I am new I have a Logitech Extreme 3D joystick and having trouble setting it up.

Does anyone have a good working configuring (>lua file I think it is) for it for use with TF-51D? I would greatly appreciate it.

I did find one for the SU-25T but still have to load it so I can check it out.

Any help will be greatly appreciated... my reg e-mail is retired_old_sarge (at) yahoo.com if you can send me anything ... Thank You All very much

I only learned that to set up the throttle on the SU-25T you have to configure "Thrust" and not throttle :)
Can't get to set the throttle for the TF-51D though.

Sorry I can't help you there. The big problem with the shared profiles (and there have been a lot of efforts from the community to share those) is that they keep breaking upon big patches that change the structure of the .lua files.

Now if you get an old profile, chances are that even if it works, it might break other (patched) functions of the (newer) .lua file.

THE NEXT BEST THING is to make your own profile. I know it is a daunting task for somebody starting out, especially since you don't really know what you need to bind.

For this I recommend Chuck's .pdf guides, namely the one for the P-51D. As you might already know the P-51D and TF-51D are essentially the same, except the TF-51D is a trainer version without any weapons.

In the first part he describes what you need to bind to your joystick, you can leave out gunfire&weapon release. Since your joystick doesn't have that many buttons you will need to set one or more modifiers. If you don't know what that is or how to do that give a shout.

When I started out (with the A10C, way more buttons^^), I made a picture in paint to help me remember which function is which and off you go. http://imgur.com/He2Lq

Now that you have an idea how it should look, find a clean picture and make your own neat documentation like that: http://emrlabs.ca/ffwiki/lib/exe/fetch.php?media=force_3d_pro.png

Good luck!

P.S. If you have some kind of recurring control setup for your different aircrafts, it will get much easier to transition between airframes and remember all the different bindings.

edit: Hermann, RPM & Throttle(Manifold pressure) are two different settings in the TF-51D, your problem might be there.

Thanks for the feed back. I did find some very good one from Hvymtal and some he modified from zquicksilverz and they work very well for me so far.

He included the printout and pic diagram as well as the modifier buttons etc. ( both a pic of the stick with tags on it as well as pic of the keyboard with button controls listed).

I have just used it a couple times so far for training and they seem to be working good so far.

I dont know when of if I will ever be using them but he includs files for A-10a, F-15C, ground-unit, input, mig-29, mig-29g, su-25, su-25T, su-27, su33 some of the files I have no idea what they are for...lol such as ground-unit, network, network.vault, options, sever Settings...

I just followed the instructions he sent on how to load them...

Thank yu for you input as I think it is probably going to be hard to find it for the beginners TF51D here as most I think are already onto bigger and better planes.

Any way... Thanks a million guys... I do take all the advice I get into consideration... Just may not follow it all.... LOL
