Setting Loadout in Mission Editor
I make a mission and I start in the air. I don't want to start on the ground. If I start in the air, how do I get the loadout I want? Seems like this should be simple, but I guess it isn't.

When you're placing your plane in the editor, look in the bottom right where the waypoint editor is, there are a couple of different tabs there. The second tab should take you to the loadout screen for that plane.
There is a loadout tab next to the waypoints tab on the right panel whe a plane is selected.
You could get a quick read inside the docs folder of your dcs installations. All the main topic of the mission editor are covered.
Yes there is a tab there. Itt opens the loadout screen. From there, there doesn't seem to be a way to pick the loadout. I highlight the load on the list of course. But when I play, I don't get the highlighted loadout.
Ok this is nuts. I am actually deleting the plane, putting in a new loadout from the outset. And it still shows the old load out. There is a bug here or something. The ground crew won't change it. They vocally announce that they are changing it but the DSMS never changes. I can't change it in the editor either. Why does this need to be so complicated and impossible to set?
Just to ask the stupid questions, are you picking the loadout on the plane with the Player/Client skill? You have to set the loadout for each member of the flight (unless you set the loadout for the #1, and then add the rest of the flight). The other stupid question is...are you saving the mission after changing the loadout and then launching it?

The only other thing I can think of is that your Task is completely different from what you're trying to load. I don't think it would cause issues if you manually create a new loadout, but if your Task is Pinpoint Strike, you won't initially see the loadouts for Sweeps or CAP.
I am inside the plane asking the crew to change it. They don't. If I do it in the editor, same result.
Is the ground crew responding at all? Is the airfield set to friendly? It's odd that the loadout isn't saving after you save the mission, I've never had that problem occur.
Yes, the groundcrew says rearming complete or something like that. It is weird. Then if I select Safe weapons, I see a completely different DSMS than the one you I see when I turn the Safe off.
Are you flying the A10C? Did you reload the DSMS after rearming? If you go to an external view can you see the new weapons loaded?
Just to press what Orlock is saying, the A10C is particular in the sense that when you change the payload, you have to actually refresh your payload program with the new data. It is a small procedure that you could find explained on youtube or searching Reload DSMS as Orlock mentionned.
OK. From the external view you can see the weapons your wanted but they don't show in the DSMS. So what you guys said is probably correct. Will try it. I feel pretty stupid because I went ahead and rewrote the whole mission to get the ghost out of the original.

Do not feel that way! If you look at my play time ( 10000 hrs +) , you could easily take 9000 hrs and put them into debugging and redoing!

This is a sign you are doing great!
Thanks. For awhile I though maybe I had intruded into an Indian burial ground or something and magic was at work!
Well I tried what the guys said about reloading the DSMS and no-go. It stays stuck on the original loadout. Maybe i have a corrupted file. Will see if it happens again with other missions.
What happens when you reload the DSMS, do the weapons stations that were changed still show as red?
